OKI Data Australia Appoints Multimedia Technology to Reinforce Australian Dealer Network
OKI Data Australia, a global manufacturer of business range printers and multi-function devices, has announced the appointment of Multimedia Technology, one of Australia’s premier national IT distributors, as a new distribution partner in Australia. The appointment forms a key element of the printer vendor’s Australian channel strategy to expand its Australian distribution and existing base of technically sound dealers to support the strong sales growth of its range of printer and multi-function printer (MFP) solutions.
Multimedia Technology was selected on the basis of its focus on the SMB market, range of value added services, cultural fit and ongoing investment in its own business. The company will also provide OKI with access to 6,000 dealers nationwide. OKI’s sales strategy is one hundred per cent focused on the channel.
“There are comprehensive synergies between the two companies both in how we go to market with a focus on the SMB segment and in our business culture which provides companies with a range of value added services. Multimedia Technology has a reputation for selling quality product and providing customer service excellence. We’re very much looking to work with Multimedia Technology to build a quality channel of dealers to scale and service the growing market opportunity for OKI in Australia,” said Greg Mikaelian, National Sales Manager, OKI Data Australia.
Multimedia Technology is one of Australia's premier national IT distributors, representing the leading IT/AV/Software and Communications vendors from around the globe. Established in 1990, the company has experienced exceptional growth and is now a major player in the Australian IT industry. The company’s head office is located in Melbourne, with regional offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.
Graeme Reardon, National Sales Manager, Multimedia Technology, said, “The OKI product line and proven expertise in the SMB market fits perfectly into our portfolio of solutions and value added services. It offers our dealer partners the opportunity to invest in building and supporting a growing market that provides a real and present need and offers a change to enjoy sound margins.
“This is a great marriage as both companies are investing in their own services and infrastructure and understand the Australian SMB market. One example of this is the OKI Try Before You Buy program which enables customers to test drive an OKI product for seven days prior to an ongoing commitment and sale. This is a real and tangible market differentiator.”
Oki Data Australia has 120 approved channel partners in Australia providing national sales and support capabilities. Last month, the company launched an Australian demonstration facility in Sydney which houses the OKI range of multifunction, colour, mono, and dot matrix printers, and serves as a centre of excellence for OKI to train and demonstrate product to distributors, dealers as well as end users.
OKI also provides its distributors with access to training, marketing, lead generation promotions, and dedicated dealer support lines. In addition, the company helps its distribution partners with stock management and dealer channel programs.
"OKI’s proven experience and demonstrated commitment ensures our joint customers will get a comprehensive technology solution that maps to their business strategy, along with dependable, ongoing support,” added Reardon.
OKI’s other distribution partners in Australia include Alloys, Bluechip InfoTech, and XiT.
About OKI Data Australia
OKI Data Australia is a global manufacturer of business range printers and MFP’s. The company commenced operations in Australia in 2009 following the acquisition from long-time master agent and distributor, IPL.
Over 30 years ago OKI pioneered LED printing technology, an advanced form of printing using fewer parts compared with the more widely known laser printing. This in turn provides many benefits to users including longer product life, fewer operational issues, increased reliability and better image quality over the entire life of the print engine.
All OKI printer products are supported by Australian-based technicians and a three-year warranty.
