Security 2010 Exhibition Relaunches Information Security Zone
Drawing on 25 years’ experience in the physical security space, Security 2010's Information Security Zone will provide security professionals with a fresh take on IT security.
Sydney, 27 July 2010 – Diversified Exhibitions Australia today announced that Security 2010 Exhibition will feature a revamped Information Security Zone with a new seminar area this year. With the relaunch, Security 2010 Exhibition will put Sydney on the map as home of one of the country’s premier IT security events.
Security 2010’s Information Security Zone will feature a range of IT security exhibitors and a new seminar area, providing informative, detailed content for IT security professionals. Seminars will include presentations and break-out sessions on network and infrastructure security, security in cloud computing, robust governance, risk and compliance, real time fraud protection, and the future of m-commerce security.
“Today security breaches often transcend the traditional line between physical and IT security - viruses infect ATMs, robbers lift hardware from firewalled data centres, and scams such as identity fraud typically involve both offline and online components,” said Exhibition Manager, Adam Coverdale.
He added: “Drawing on 25years’ experience in the physical security space, our Information Security Zone will provide security professionals with a fresh take on IT security. We’re expecting a high quality line-up of speakers to our inaugural event, to discuss the some of the most pressing IT security trends businesses and the public sector are facing today.”
According to KPMG’s Australian Fraud Survey, nearly 45% of the companies surveyed experienced at least one case of fraud during 2008. Of the total value attributable to external parties, fraudulent access to financial services’ accounts using attacks over the Internet amounted to 31%.
Regulatory compliance is one of the main factors why analyst firm Frost and Sullivan expects the Australian market for network security alone to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 4.3 per cent from 2009 to 2015, to reach gross revenues of US$252.2 million by the close of 2015.
Security 2010 Exhibition is Australia’s most important industry event covering the latest security products from around the world, including access control, biometrics, monitoring, alarms and physical security. In 2009, over $15 million in business was written by exhibitors, and the exhibition attendees had a combined buying power of over $10 billion.
