for the BlackBerry10 Jam World Tour in the Asia Pacific region is now open.
The World Tour begins 2 July, 2012 and covers six cities in the region –
Bangalore, Delhi, Beijing, Singapore, Jakarta and Sydney. Developers will have
the opportunity to explore the unique capabilities of BlackBerry 10 and to
also be among the first to develop on this new platform. Interested developers

for more information.
“This tour will give us the opportunity to engage directly with BlackBerry developers across Asia Pacific. We plan to support our developers with all the necessary resources to help them launch their apps for BlackBerry 10,” said Alec Saunders, VP Developer Relations at RIM. “Through these sessions, developers will be able to gain a better understanding of BlackBerry 10 and engage with their peers.”
What is the BlackBerry 10 Jam World Tour?
For developers who missed the opportunity at BlackBerry 10 Jam in Orlando in May, here is another opportunity for them to get hands-on time with BlackBerry 10 tools and connect with RIM experts and other developers in their region.
The BlackBerry Jam World Tour is a series of full-day events dedicated to providing the developer community with insights on the BlackBerry 10 platform, its strengths, the vision, and how developers can make apps that stand out with customers. The Tour will offer guidance from BlackBerry platform experts with sessions focused on HTML5 with BlackBerry WebWorks™ and Native C/C++ with Cascades as well as QML development for the BlackBerry platform. Developers will be able to interact with experts who can provide guidance, tips and tricks, and other information to help developers build apps for BlackBerry 10.
Slated to take place during lunch, ten registrants will have the opportunity to pitch their apps to fellow attendees in “Lightning Pitches”. The winner will be voted by attendees and announced during the closing reception.
To help them get started on the BlackBerry 10 platform, qualified developers* who attend the BlackBerry 10 Jam World Tour will be provided with a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device in order to test their apps and to help ensure their apps are ready and available for customers when the first BlackBerry 10 devices launch.

*Note: Qualified developers will be determined by RIM using applicant information from the registration system. If you have already received a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device at a previous BlackBerry developer event or from RIM, you are not eligible for this offer. Registrants who apply will be notified within 24 hours before the event if they are qualified to receive a device at BlackBerry 10 Jam. Qualified developers must collect their device in person at the World Tour event that they are registered for. Photo identification must be provided at the time of collection. Registrants cannot receive more than one (1) BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device during the BlackBerry 10 Jam World Tour.
