Work Club wants to help bring side projects to life, launching after hours memberships 2016-12-19T21:10:00Z work-club-wants-to-help-bring-side-projects-to-life-launching-after-hours-memberships 20 December 2016 - Melbourne. Work Club Melbourne today launches its ‘side project’ membership, catering for anyone who wants to bring their side project to life. The membership provides access to Work Club on weekends and after 5.00pm on weekdays. Including all the benefits of Work Club after hours, the space is the ideal environment to grow a startup or develop a new career. Work Club member, ex Managing Director of Artesian Venture Partners and now founder and CEO of a new startup Xchange, Caitlin Iles, said “When I was working full-time and trying to develop Xchange I spent hours sitting in café or hotel lobbies feeding off the energy of its patrons. I was looking for a space like Work Club that I could access before and after work and on weekends where I could focus and incubate my ideas. I only wish I had found Work Club earlier in my journey of being a founder, I am sure I would have been months ahead of where I am now.” “My new business Xchange is currently in its infancy - we are preparing to launch in 2017. Without a doubt the quality of the interiors, the team and caliber of my colleagues at Work Club in Melbourne and Sydney have brought a level of credibility to my business that has given us a head start. In many ways it feels like an unfair advantage.” Founder of Work Club, Soren Trampedach, who has also designed workplaces for Google and Microsoft, said, “Being a Work Club member gives you so much more than just access to the highest quality workspace. Members also have access to our entertainment and hospitality lounges, concierge services, and member relationships so those starting their side project journey can meet people who are further along and can provide advice and inspiration to help with new ideas and information.” “We know that there are many people currently working in a corporate job that are either starting their own business on the side, or planning to become an independent consultant. This creates a need for energizing and inspiring environments where these corporate escapees can safely begin their transition to life outside of traditional employment. This side project membership provides a soft landing.” Ten side project memberships are available at Work Club Melbourne. Work Club Sydney plan to introduce this membership category in early 2017. Event organisers have used these electrical machines for the past 2 years, saving them money as opposed to actually buying one. Melbourne party-goers also claim that karaokes bring about epic level of fun during parties, where each guest gets a chance to shine in his or her own way. Awesome Party Hire recognizes that finding alternatives may be challenging and is therefore providing customers with additional information and resources on the company website at www.awesomepartyhire.com.au When asked about the reasons behind the decision to end the product, Sam Balcombe, General Manager of Awesome Party Hire said, "Although karaoke machines promote a variety of party fun, it is being discontinued because of the high incidence of manhandling the machine thus costing damage and costly repairs." Awesome Party Hire have also expressed that they will focus more of their resources to satisfy hire demand for inflatables rather than repair of electrical party equipment. They believe this will be a win-win for both their customers and the company itself. After Omnifone’s closure, LINE, a world-wide messenger service was on the lookout for an experienced music technology company with strong music label relationships, and a robust and highly scalable platform to ingest millions of tracks quickly to delight its 220 million global MAU (Monthly Active Users) of LINE MUSIC in Japan. Tuned Global has been the preferred partner with its proven track record in fast delivery and strong capability to execute digital music solutions, having worked with reputable brands like Samsung Mobile, News Limited, Universal Music, Coles and JB Hi-Fi . Tuned Global has transitioned all its systems to the cloud with Amazon Web Services and used this highly scalable infrastructure to collaborate rapidly with LINE MUSIC’s engineering team. According to Con Raso, MD of Tuned Global: “We have the best-in-class resources to integrate using a powerful platform. We know that if we are to succeed in this music streaming innovation era, we need to have a unique offering for our partners that will enable them to execute faster in a seamless manner.” Tuned Global built a technology called Intaga to allow it to administer all aspects of catalogue management. Through Intaga, Tuned Global is able to ingest massive volume of incoming files from record labels and deliver content in the appropriate format to LINE MUSIC. Tuned Global has recently ingested many millions of tracks over a 24-hour period, its systems scaling automatically to achieve the time frame goal.  This process would haven taken 30 days to finish in the past - it is unique in the industry. Tuned Global does not only meet the requirements for this project, from collaborating with multiple international record labels for rights management, to the technical competence to deliver quickly, it also gave LINE MUSIC confidence that communication lines are always open to manage day-to-day operations with full transparency. Indeed, Tuned Global has commissioned a local representative to help understand the Japanese business culture and nurture a long-term relationship with LINE MUSIC’s Japanese executives. LINE MUSIC is integrated into Japan’s #1 instant messaging service LINE. Users can effortlessly send music or playlists directly to friends or groups on the LINE app’s chat screen or share them on their timeline. Songs sent by users in the LINE app can be played inside the app’s chat and timeline screens. Taking place in Wollongong, NSW on Saturday 17 December, RedBalloon is attempting to set a new Guinness World Record for ‘the most tandem parachute jumps in eight hours’ and is calling for eager daredevils who want to cross skydiving off their bucket list and achieve a world record to boot. These record breaking attempts are becoming somewhat of a habit for the gift retailer following last year’s record smash for ‘world’s largest surf lesson’ which saw 320 people congregate on iconic Bondi Beach dressed in Santa outfits. The number of jumps required to set the new record is 94, however RedBalloon has set an ambitious target of 150 jumps within the given time period. The event is completely free for the lucky 150 participants who make the list. In partnership with children’s cancer charity, Camp Quality, participants will be encouraged to donate on the day, and RedBalloon will be donating $10 per skydive to the charity alongside running a competition for celebrity guests in attendance, which will see a bonus $1,000 donated to the charity every time the RedBalloon target is landed on.  “We’re very excited about this record attempt. RedBalloon has always been known for pushing the boundaries and testing our limits, and we’re confident that we’ll be able to be the new Guinness World Records title holders for this skydiving experience,” RedBalloon CEO Nick Baker said. “We’re really looking forward to seeing the public get involved and tick skydiving off their bucket list whilst creating some great new memories in the lead up to Christmas. Participants can register for this experience free of charge through the RedBalloon website.” If you’re interested in participating in this unique Guinness World Record attempt, visit the RedBalloon website to register: https://www.redballoon.com.au/christmas/break-a-world-record-skydive. Spaces are strictly limited so people are advised to get in quickly to avoid disappointment. A skydiving experience is just one of the thousands of experiences offered by RedBalloon this Christmas. With Christmas just around the corner, RedBalloon is making it easier for Australians to find truly special presents with an expanded range of almost 4,000 experiences, as well as hundreds of unique and personalised products available through the newly launched wrapped.com. Ex-Wolfmother bassist Chris Ross is one of the facilitators of the program, supporting and mentoring adults on the autism spectrum to create their own music.  Developed in early 2014, ‘Club Weld’ brings together emerging musicians with autism and professional musicians in a supportive environment to build confidence, develop musical knowledge, skills and experiences, share stories, nurture creative talents and come together to forge relationships.  “Club Weld is a unique program made possible because of the skills and talents of the adults with autism who attend. In every session, Club Weld sees difference and talents ‘welded together’ to create music. It has created great opportunities for people on the spectrum.” said Sam Worrad, Club Weld Facilitator. Members of the program have been working hard to produce an original compilation album, to coincide with the International Day of Disability this December. The album by ‘Club Weld and The Riff Society’ will officially launch at The Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith at 10.30am on Monday December 5th 2016. A screening of the album's music videos, made by Western Sydney artists  brought together by I.C.E, will be launched on Friday 16th December, 6-8pm in Parramatta.  Club Weld aims to both celebrate the talents of artists on the spectrum and with other disabilities whilst simultaneously showcasing the high quality practices of these artists to local communities and potential future collaborators. www.clubweld.org.au Club Weld members are available for interview.
