The PRWIRE Press Releaseshttp://2013-02-25T02:43:34ZRevolution Marine Finance Warns Prospective Boat Buyers: “Don’t Buy Too Much Boat for your Budget”2013-02-25T02:43:34Zrevolution-marine-finance-warns-prospective-boat-buyers-don-t-buy-too-much-boat-for-your-budgetRevolution Marine Finance has isolated some problems that are common to many prospective boat buyers. As a popular finance broking firm for marine loans, they have seen many buyers buy the wrong boat for their needs, or try to buy too much boat for their budget. Consequently, in a recent blog post, they offered some solid advice and a beginner’s guide to choosing a boat. The post covered two main materials for recreational boats: aluminium and fibreglass. Pressed aluminium is usually used for smaller boats, while plate aluminium is usually used for larger boats. Generally, aluminium boats are used in calmer waters, which don’t put a lot of demand on the boats.Fibreglass is heavier, and is used in larger boats and in speed boats. It can be moulded into shapes that take better advantage of hydrodynamics and aerodynamics. The only downside to Fibreglass is that it has a tendency to undergo more cosmetic surface damage than aluminium boats do.PVC and various plastics are used to build inflatable boats, which often have floors made of wood, aluminium, or steel.Though there are many subsets, boats can be classified as small, medium, and large, or inexpensive, moderate, and expensive.Inflatable boats are usually used for light recreation, and are usually inexpensive, but can also come in larger models and can handle motors up to 250hp. Dinghies are smaller boats, and can be inflatables, but can also be a rowboat or a small sailboat. Runabouts cost a bit more, but are still considered entry-level or inexpensive. Boats categorised as small or inexpensive can be used for fishing, various forms of water-skiing, and family boating.Bass boats are a step up, and are designed for tournament fishing. They can hold two to three people, and have a livewell to keep fish alive in competitions. They are recommended for serious fishermen only.Bowriders are in the moderate/medium range. They have more room for seating in an open bow area, and are used for water sports. The most popular medium range family boat is the Cuddy Cabin. They have a closed area for sleeping or getting out of the weather, and some have amenities such as cooking and plumbing.Cruisers are the first boat in the expensive category, though used ones can often be found in more of the moderate price range. They are used primarily for cruising, and have a lot of amenities that make them useful for longer trips.Houseboats are another step up in price, and are literally house boats. Many people choose to live in houseboats, though most used them as floating hotel rooms.Yachts are the luxury item, and the king of recreational boats. They are very expensive, and can be used for trans-ocean voyages. They have every amenity possible on a boat.Ben Crombie, Co-Owner and Managing Director of Revolution Marine Finance, hopes that his blog post is helpful to prospective boat buyers: “While most boat buyers have already chosen their boats when they talk to us about a boat loan, beginners often have no idea what they are buying. We wanted to provide a guide telling those beginners what some of the more popular boats are, what they are used for, and what price range they can expect to see.”Revolution Marine Finance provides boat financing options for all shapes and sizes of boats, from dinghies to yachts.Call them at 1300 448 675 or check out their website here: http://www.revolutionmarinefinance.com.au/.Corporate Team Entries Pour in for V Adventure Race Fremantle2013-02-08T02:20:19Zcorporate-team-entries-pour-in-for-v-adventure-race-fremantleOn 2nd June 2013, the V Adventure Race Fremantle will be contested in Fremantle, WA. The race will fall under the auspices of Triathlon Western Australia, but it is actually a race with 5 different legs. The first will be an ocean swim of 1 km, followed by a Cyclo-Cross Ride of 18 km, and a Trail Run of 4.5 km. Moving it past triathlon status, the V Adventure Race Fremantle will end with an Ocean Paddle of 8 km, followed by the Coast/Port run of 9 km.If there were such a word, the V Adventure Race would qualify as a “Quintathlon,” or at least a “Quadathlon.” Though the race will attract athletes from all over the world, many Australians will be more interested in the team races. In the team races, teams have five members who each participate in one leg of the race. Large corporations, small to mid-size businesses, amateur track teams, and even groups of friends get together and enter teams in the V Adventure Race. Most companies find the race to be a great morale builder for the employees involved, and it often gives employees and management from different departments a chance to work together as a team outside of the office. Any business, from small to large, finds entry into races like the one in Fremantle to have a lot of intangible benefits for their workplaces.Team entries are a source of pride for those who enter and complete the race, and this pride is carried over into the workplace. Companies also see an opportunity to take the benefits a step further by providing the participants with singlets or uniforms with the company’s name and/or logo.Anyone who finishes any kind of race always feels a sense of accomplishment. When an employee has a uniform with a company logo, that employee tends to link the positive experience of the race with his or her company’s name. When a company provides a uniform for a team race such as this one, everybody wins. The racers get a uniform that makes the race even more special to them. The company gets a boost in morale, and brand recognition as the participants wear the uniforms not only in the race, but in practice leading up to the race, and in recreational participation afterwards.Races like the V Adventure Race Fremantle can also help participants develop a stronger interest in physical fitness. This always provides benefits in the workplace, as many studies have shown fit employees to perform better under pressure and take less “sick days” than employees who are not physically fit.According to Jarrod Wojtowicz, Director of JP Promotions, a lot of companies outfit their employees in corporate uniforms: “The Fremantle race is a great time to build teamwork and camaraderie, and there is something about a sharp uniform with a team logo that encourages the competitors, and makes them feel even more part of the team.”Wojtowicz concluded, “We have a range of athletic uniforms, from singlets to full uniforms; they can be screen printed or embroidered with the company’s name, logo, or both. We recommend getting your order in soon, and watch the pride on your team’s faces when they see their uniforms for the first time.”JP Promotions supplies singlets, uniforms, workwear, corporate gifts,
and other promotional products to businesses throughout the Perth area. For more information, call them at 08 9248 6300 or visit: http://www.jppromotions.com.au/11th International Sailing Summit: a Watershed Moment for Australian Sailing?2013-01-16T02:03:19Z11th-international-sailing-summit-a-watershed-moment-for-australian-sailingOn 3rd December 2012, the International Sailing Summit was held at Sail Melbourne. The Summit was an international conference, with representatives consisting of a “who’s who” from the sport of sailing. The focus of the presentations was international, and aimed toward the growth of the sport. Australia, though, used the conference to launch a major initiative to encourage participation in both competitive and recreational sailing.Literally everyone who is important in the sailing industry in Australia acted together as one to reorganise sailing as we know it, joining together in an unprecedented show of unity to form a steering group to work together for the good of the industry. The steering group will be led by representatives of the ISS, and will include Yachting Australia, the Boating Industry Association of Australia (BIAA), and representatives of both small and large yacht clubs across the country. The industry aims to incorporate groups such as BIAA’s My Boating Life, and Yachting Australia’s Discover Sailing into a greater whole. The main aims of the steering group will be to work together and “streamline” programs, producing a sleek, new association that helps both sport and recreational sailing grow. The committee will begin its work immediately, and will present an analysis in Sydney this April at the Marine 13 conference. Those who attended the Summit were treated to cutting-edge presentations by some of the industry’s brightest and most creative minds. Jonathan Banks, who is the former executive director of Sail America, served as the international keynote speaker. He told the summit about his experience with the Discover Sailing Program, and how he was able to grow sailing in the US from a near-crisis state into a very healthy industry.Tim Reid gave Small Business Big Marketing’s “7 Marketing Wake Up Calls” presentation, which helps small businesses maximise their marketing resources. The final presentation of the afternoon focused on mobile e-commerce and social media. The focus was on helping grow sailing by fully utilising both platforms.Australia’s presentation was lively and inspiring. Sailing legend John Bertrand, Yachting Australia Sport Development Director Ross Kilborn, and Yachting Australia High Performance Director Peter Conde participated in an animated panel session that discussed how Australia can work to fully leverage the success at the Olympics into unparalleled growth for the sailing industry.Ben Crombie, Managing Director of Revolution Marine Finance, is enthusiastic about the formation of the steering group: “I have long felt that sailing is a ‘sleeping giant’ in Australia, and I have often wondered what would happen if the industry ever decided to get serious and work together to grow sailing into what it could be. This could end up being the biggest development in the history of sailing in Australia.”Crombie continued, “In the boat loan business, we talk to boaters and fishermen all day. Sailors, in particular, have a gleam in their eyes that nobody else has. When a sailor talks about sailing, it’s as if there is nobody else in the room, and he is back out on the water. We have known for a long time that sailors are among the most enthusiastic sportsmen in the world.”Crombie concluded, “If this steering group gets it right, and brings everyone involved in sailing together under one roof, working together for the good of the industry, it will produce unprecedented growth.”Revolution Marine Finance provides fast and reliable boat finance options across Australia. To contact them, visit their website http://www.revolutionmarinefinance.com.au/ or dial 1300 448 675.Dock Pro’s Intuitive Alternative for Antifouling System2012-10-03T00:26:06Zdock-pro-s-intuitive-alternative-for-antifouling-systemNow you have a boat and decided to
moor your craft in the water. However, you might be thinking of some consequences
of leaving your vessel moored in the water. In the long run, your boat might be
dying whilst barnacles keep living underside your boat’s hull. If you love your
boat, you would surely not leave it like a floating reef in the future. Being
the world’s best docking systems supplier, Dock Pro provides professional
solution to prevent the growth of barnacles and prevents these organisms from
devastating your craft.
Traditionally, people used antifoul
paint or coating to get rid of barnacles growing underside the boat, propellers
and shafts. However, this leads to some cons to your boat's performance and the environment. Antifoul paints contain toxic materials that are slowly release in waterways. You cannot stop the growth of barnacles obviously, but preventing
them will definitely reduce the chances of getting your boat destructed.
History shows, electronic antifouling system is quite ineffective that leads to
innovate a more sophisticated technology to handle the issues. The SeaPen is a
state-of-the-art dry docking system that can house the smallest of vessels to
massive 100ft plus vessels. This technology guarantees protection to your craft’s
hull with no more antifouling, no more boat lifts, reduces boat hull wear and
tear, allows fresh water flush your engines and reduced anode replacement.
If you love your boat, keep it safe. Call 1300 736 731 or visit Dock Pro
website and learn how they can help you with the latest innovation in docking
system. No more flat battery inspired disasters - and when your family carries one, no more excuses that "But my battery was dead, and I couldn't call to say I was running late!" too.Solar power for your mobile devices also means you are taking less power from the grid - saving the planet AND saving money one recharge at a time. Here are some tips for getting the most out of your solar charger:A great way to use a solar charger for your mobile phone or tablet while camping or bushwalking is to WEAR IT! Strap it to your backpack and recharge your portable battery anywhere you go. Then its on hand to charge up your phone, camera, GPS or the kid's iPod (so you can enjoy the serenity a bit longer).Pop it onto the car console or dashboard while driving to catch some rays. Leave it on the windowsill at home through the day so you can recharge off the grid at night. If you are charging through a window, windscreen, etc, be aware that the charging times will be increased especially if your windows are tinted. The power of the sun's rays depend on the season, as during summer the earth faces more directly towards the sun. So charge times can vary depending on the season where you are.To increase the efficiency of your solar charger, make sure the panels directly face the sun at all times. As the sun moves across the sky throughout the day, adjust your solar charger accordingly. The time of day is also an important factor to consider when using your solar charger. You will get the best performance when the sun is at the highest point in the sky, usually at noon. In fact, an hour charging at Noon will give better charge than a few hours later on the same day.Extreme weather can affect your solar charger's efficiency, so if its baking hot, protect your charger from until its a little cooler, ideally less than 45deg C.About
