Announcement posted by OM Digital 17 Nov 2021

Dishing up Delicious Food and Fun in a Brand New Venue.

And just like that, Melbourne’s restaurant life is alive again with the bustling of people and the clinking of cutlery and glassware that can only mark the celebration of the return of our adored hospitality scene after the world’s longest lockdown. And with it, we welcome Melbourne’s newest venue and a pop-up by the creator of Rice Paper Scissors.

Introducing: Rice Paper Scissors @ Aunty Kim’s House.

Rice Paper Scissors highly anticipated and limited-time pop-up at Aunty Kim’s House is a celebration of freedom and an ode to the Melbourne restaurant industry at the event’s venue of what would have been Aunty Kim’s. Which, was planned to launch in August 2021, however, due to Melbourne’s extended lockdown and the long pause of the events industry, was unable to officially open.

Located on the iconic thoroughfare of Johnston Street in Collingwood, the space can cater for large bookings and events making it perfect for Christmas parties, birthdays, engagement parties, and even weddings. Bookings can be made from a minimum of 10 people for a Chefs Table, all the way to 80 guests if you’re looking to book the entire venue.

Rice Paper Scissors @ Aunty Kim’s House will delight the senses with their iconic South-East Asian flavours that are synonymous with their famed menu. With more shared options for large bookings, paired with their famous cocktail and beverage offerings you can expect a gastronomic feast for your party of up to 80.

Head Chef, Malcolm Wright (previously the head chef at Maha, Red Spice Road, and St Katherine's) will be dishing up his trademark dishes along with some new and exciting recipes he has been working on during lockdown. Guests can also expect to sink their teeth into a range of delicious desserts, such as Malcolm’s sweetcorn pudding with chocolate soil, ginger ice cream, salted caramel, and caramel popcorn, which has the RPS crew totally obsessed!

The menu will offer an array of delectable sharing plates and feed-me menus starting from a modest $65 per person. For those with a thirsty appetite, you can add on a drinks package for an additional $40 that will keep the drinks flowing throughout your lunch or dinner.

Oh, and did we mention there are no time restrictions for your large booking? That’s right, NO TIME RESTRICTIONS. Guests will also be able to enjoy all the benefits of Aunty Kim’s event space at the generous price of Rice Paper Scissors.
