As long-standing advocates for sexual wellness and making pleasure a priority for all bodies, Australia’s largest online retailer of sex toys, Wild Secrets have made it their mission to empower and educate beyond the usual scope of most retailers.
Beginning in 2020 with the launch of educational Instagram channel @knowme_au, dedicated to closing the 'O Gap' in relationships, Wild Secrets started an important conversation and is making sure the momentum isn’t lost.
Last Friday, March 18, 2022 welcomed the first instalment of their Sexual Wellness Series, promoting female empowerment, sexual liberation and sex education. The set of free events was kicked off with the first ever live session of Clementine Ford’s Instagram series, Friday Night Bites filmed in-house and broadcasted live via Zoom at the Wild Secrets head office in Abbotsford.
Driven by questions submitted from followers via Ford’s Instagram, the discussion encompassed what young people should be taught about sex and pleasure, consent, and the portrayal of women in the media – notably, Domenica Calarco’s harsh treatment on this season of Married at First Sight for sharing content on subscription service OnlyFans.
Attended by sexologists, Bryony Cole and Kassandra Mourikis, Married at First Sight alums, Sarah Jane Roza and Booka Nile, Mamamia writer Carly Sophia, and lucky Instagram followers of Ford’s that won a competition to attend – the excitement in the air was palpable.
The evening was a roaring and empowering success, with attendees receiving a personalised pleasure pack to support their own journeys to empowerment, plus a premium gold-plated bondage kit valued at $15,000 raffled off at random by Wild Secrets and won by an incredibly lucky (and now well kitted out!) guest.
While potentially uncomfortable subjects for some, these are the types of questions and discussions Wild Secrets aim to lead and foster, as well as initiating essential conversations around accepting and normalising what can often be considered sensitive or taboo topics.
Sexual wellness doesn’t begin or end with the purchase of a sex toy. It comprises honest conversations and dialogues, with Wild Secrets recognising this and providing an accessible and modern platform with the hope of reducing negative communication, pain and potential heartache for couples and individuals alike.
Stay tuned for the next instalment of the Sexual Wellness Series featuring inclusive and pleasure centred sexologist, Kassandra Mourikis discussing the libido gap and how to balance differing sex drives in a relationship.
