The Star has announced it is on the hunt for the biggest Blues and Maroons supporter Rugby has ever seen. The reason? To bestow them with the best money-can’t-buy-experience a true footy fan deserves.

The Mighty Blues and Maroons obsessed are encouraged to enter The Star’s Super Blues and Maroons Fan Search for their chance to be flown from any part of Australia for two premium seats at Game 3 at Suncorp Stadium, overnight accommodation, a signed Blues or Maroons Jersey, a full pack of merchandise courtesy of NSWRL and QRL, and the honour of accompanying their beloved team out onto the field for kick-off.

Rugby League Fan and The Star Spokesperson, Mark Hodge, says the dedication to their fandom doesn’t stop there.

“Our winning Super Blues and Maroons Fan will have the ultimate ode to them created in the form of a life-sized 3D statue which will take pride of place at our Sports Bar for all footy fanatics to admire.”

“These Super Maroons Fans we’re looking for, are unlike any other. They aren’t just a season ticket holder, they’re lifers. They breathe, eat and live rugby league, especially when the greatest game rivalry of all time is underway.

“We want the crazy and the whacky! We want to see homes covered in memorabilia, collections of jerseys since ‘99, and not-so-subtle supporter tattoos—there’s no limit on the love for sport.

“By showing us they bleed Blue or Maroon, they stand to win not only the title of The Star Super Blues or Maroons Fan of 2022, but they will also score an incredible haul of prizes that will provide bragging rights for life,” says Mark.

NSW Rugby League’s Chief Commercial Officer, Jodie Cross, says the competition is currently a hot topic amongst the players.

“If you ask any of the players, they absolutely adore their fans and will attribute the love of the game to them. So when we heard about the search for The Star Super Blues Fan, we were thrilled that our Blues supporters will be rewarded in such an amazing way,” says Ms Cross.

Queensland Maroons Legend Corey Parker said “Queensland Maroons have the best fans out there, there is nothing like the feeling of running out, knowing you have the entire state behind you, whether it is from country to coast, Queenslanders rock!”

Do you think you make the cut as one of the first-ever The Star Super Blues or Maroons Fan? Show The Star what you’ve got and register today. Entries close at midnight on June 22nd.

This is a game of skill not chance, so a small panel of independent judges will be selecting a winner. Their unenviable task will be to seek out the Bluest of the Blue and the Maroonest of Maroons, to be crowned the official The Star Super Blues and Super Maroons Fan on July 13th.
