TOPdesk Australia has appointed a new General Manager, Robert van der Gulik, to spearhead its Australian business.
Van der Gulik, who commences in the GM role this week, joins the Australian business from TOPdesk Canada where he held the role of Managing Director for the past four years, having joined the company in the Netherlands ten years ago.
The appointment signals a commitment to the Australian market and reflects the growth opportunities for IT and enterprise service management solutions here in Australia.
Speaking of his vision for TOPdesk Australia, van der Gulik says he will focus on specific industries and regions to find the customers that TOPdesk is uniquely best placed to help.
“It’s important our customers fit us, and we fit those customers – that’s how we can make those customers happy,” said van der Gulik.
As General Manager of the Australian business van der Gulik brings experience from across TOPdesk’s international business operations and plans to expand on existing successes while building a dynamic and sustainable team.
“In Canada, I worked with a smaller team to make things happen and take our business to the next level.
“It was great to have the agility to experiment in a local market, while having the support of 25 years of knowledge and experience from other TOPdesk offices around the world.
“I see a similar opportunity at TOPdesk Australia. We already have a diverse team in place here in Melbourne. Drawing on their strengths we will identify and progress the right model for growth in the Australian market.”
Robert van der Gulik succeeds Marian den Ouden, who has now moved to the role of Head of Customer Acquisition at TOPdesk Head Office, in the Netherlands.
