Mr. Barry Morgan's 'Blows thru Your Town' tour

Announcement posted by Jameson & Co 31 Aug 2022

Proudly presented by Barry Morgan's World Of Organs

Everybody’s favourite organ salesman, Barry Morgan is touring throughout August and September  with his beloved Hammond organ, ‘Aurora’ in North Queensland as he makes his way down through the Gold Coast and New South Wales, including one Sydney show at The Great Club in Marrickville.

With his pandemic proportioned organ and tunes as catchy as Covid, the Barry Morgan Blows Thru Your Town tour is giving Australian audiences a much needed injection of happiness with his infectious smile, trademark safari suits, loud walking socks and impressive command of his organ.

The toothy tunesmith rose to fame when he performed on ABC TV’s Spicks and Specks over a decade ago, becoming an audience favourite.

Since then, he has been selling out venues wherever he goes, whether he performs his own headline shows or on the festival circuit. He has bedazzled audiences at the Melbourne and Sydney International Comedy Festivals, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth Fringe, New Zealand Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Fringe! Even the young adoring crowds at Homebake and Falls Festival have fallen for Barry’s organ and special brand of groovy organ tunes, singalongs and silliness!

Says effervescent and completely loveable Baz, whose interests include collecting flags of the world, holidaying in remote lighthouses and competitive shuttlecock, ‘Expect the unexpected and leave your worries at the door.

‘Just imagine a Tupperware party, but with a lot more organ.

‘My “Barry Blows thru Your Town” tour will delight all the family … and bring the lonely goth from next door too, they’ll love it!’

MR BARRY MORGAN BIO

Mr. Barry Morgan is the alter-ego creation of professional session musician Stephen ‘Stretch’ Teakle, known for his work with Neil Murray, The Warumpi Band, Chris Wilson, James Reyne, Debra Conway, Gotye, and many others.

First appearing on the ABC TV Show Spicks and Specks, Barry has entertained audiences all over the world with his kitsch retro look, inadvertent double-entendres and his amazing organ.

Following a slew of personal set-backs in recent years, everything from Russian hackers to a brain tumour, Barry and his world's worst ‘manager’ Stretch are back on the road and playing up a storm.

What people are saying about Barry Morgan.

"This will be good for you" ~ Far North Psychology Clinic

"We can't un-see that" ~ The Single Parent Association of Qld

"Barry is the golden syrup on the fairy-bread of life." ~ Nancy Morgan

"He's the love child of Bob Downe and Dennis Lillee ~ Adam Hills, ABC Spicks n Specks

Mission

Like many Australians, Stephen has struggled with his mental health at times. ‘Real life’ (divorce, illness, depression and a pandemic) has taken its toll, leaving him particularly low in recent years.

After reaching out for help, and engaging in a rigorous self-care campaign, Stretch (& Barry) are well on the way back to good health.

Taking his own experience, and inspired by the millions of other people who also struggle, Barry is now on a mission to share Stephen's story. Putting his fun and exuberant character to great use, Barry continues to share joy and hope with Organ Lovers all over the globe.

However, now his vibrant cartoonish act includes seeds of mental health advice, and encouragement to reach out when you are low.
