Celebrating 25 Years of an Iconic Venue with Historical Significance to Sydney

In September 2022, Montage by Navarra is celebrating a wonderful 25 years since its iconic inception. The waterfront Lilyfield venue Montage has a deep importance to Sydney's history dating as far back to the 1960’s.

The iconic building, which opened in 1962, was once home to the Italian-Australian APIA club, a symbol of the Italian community's presence in society. It provided a place of unity for the wider Italian community in Sydney during a time of initial waves of migration into the Australia.

In 1996, the popular sporting institute the APIA club was bought by the Navarra family, who established the venue to the iconic stature that is it known for today. Not only does Montage hold significant symbolism for the success of immigrants in Australia making it the diverse country it is today, Montage represents significance for the Navarra family.

The company was founded by Filippo Navarra who had migrated to Australia from Sicily in 1965. He worked three jobs; at a fruit shop, as a motor mechanic and at a function centre, waiting tables, this was where the inspiration for Conca D'oro, the flagship venue emerged. His son and now, CEO Sal Navarra has carried on the family tradition innovating to remain consistent with the times. - Montage recently held a private and exclusive dinner with NBA star Shaquille O’Neal, and a meet and greet with pint size Russian viral internet sensation, Hasbulla.
