US based tech media company, TechnologyAdvice, announces appointment of Janice Tong to secure growth plans for APAC

APAC, Australia – TechnologyAdvice, a US based media company, is gearing up to solidify their APAC expansion efforts following last year’s acquisition of TechRepublic brands from Red Ventures Group (formerly CBS Interactive).

Effective immediately, the media company has appointed Janice Tong as managing director for the APAC region, tasked with driving focus and growing new opportunities across the region.

Prior to joining TechnologyAdvice, Tong has had an extensive experience in sales within the tech media industry, from early days at Computer Publications with Australian Consolidated Press (now ARE Media), then followed by a 15-year stint at Foundry Australia (formerly IDG Communications) moving through a succession of different positions that largely focused on sales and the IT Channel, before becoming CRO for the company in 2019. A short hiatus from media saw Janice join a strategic brand and digital agency, Bang Australia, a services arm of the Australian challenger distributor, NEXTGEN Group, where she served as Managing Director for a year.

“I’m thrilled by the rich opportunities for growth in this region – TechnologyAdvice has come into APAC at a pivotal time when the technology market and B2B tech sector is evolving at a rapid pace and this expansion will only continue to accelerate. This is an exciting and dynamic time to be delivering strong media, content and lead gen solutions to market through TechnologyAdvice’s unique offerings.” Tong said.

Since entering into the tech media market in 2006, founder and CEO Rob Bellenfant has grown the company from strength to strength. Fast forward to 2022, TechnologyAdvice (TA) is a technology-enabled B2B media company with over 20 digital media brands and currently has over 500 team members worldwide, with a strong team of 50 dedicated to working within the engineering and data hub, this engine room is driving TA’s fastest growing business unit.

Global CRO, Zach Jones commented that whilst the corporate teams will continue to focus on integrating the newly acquired global members, processes and tools; it’s important to recognise that TA has ambitious growth goals for the APAC region. Its core mission is to create opportunities for technology buyers, technology vendors, our team members and our communities, and to that end, “We are dedicated to educating, advising, and connecting buyers and sellers of business technology.”

Tong sums it up, “For me, both personally and professionally, it is an important attribute that TA has a strong and thriving team culture and that the company places customer experience as its highest priority in order to deliver an exceptional and quality experience.”
