Couples only Meno House is rapidly developing a reputation as the place to stay on the more relaxed Gili Island.
Located on the quieter side of the island there is a very healthy and colouful coral reef a one minute swim away and guests are often welcomed into the water by inquisitive turtles.
The six luxury villas whose interiors were designed by leading Australian interior designer David Hicks, offer a stylish and private island sanctuary. The vibe at Meno House is very welcoming and relaxed and once settled many guests decide to extend their stay.
A delicious beach side breakfast is included and it’s best enjoyed post an early morning snorkel at high tide. The alfresco beach bar and restaurant also serves lunch and dinner for guests and other island explorers. It’s water’s edge menu offers Indonesian classics like gado gado, fresh seafood treats and nasi campur in addition to contemporary options.
There is often a small crowd found enjoying happy hour and sunset cocktails.
The team at Meno House are happy to arrange island hopping trips, sunrise/sunset horse rides, diving, fishing trips and other local adventures.
Snorkelling gear is provided to all guests.
One of the best things about the Gili islands is they strictly ban motorized vehicles. Therefore, transport is by bike, on a “cidomo” the local horse-drawn carts or walking. The horses are well looked after and are considered prize possessions by the families who own them.
Gili Meno offers more of serene nature, besides superb diving opportunities. Meno is the smallest island with the least inhabitants, located in the center of the 3 island cluster. Here are white beaches, and shady palm trees interspersed with grassland, where cattle graze.
Gili Meno is a most idyllic and romantic retreat for honeymooners, it’s a perfect place to chill or for the more active there are lots of things to do. Around the island are three dive spots that re favorite with scuba divers, they are called the Meno Wall, Sea Point Turtle, and Point Coral Blue.
