South Perth Hospital Streamlines Patient Administration with Global Health System

Announcement posted by Working Systems 18 Aug 2005

Global Health today announced that South Perth Hospital had streamlined the way it processes its patients by switching to e-PAS (enhanced patient administration system), an Australian-developed suite of advanced workflow applications.
The West Australian private hospital has gone live with e-PAS for its patient management; theatre management and scheduling; medical records and coding; and patient accounts.
Global Healths e-PAS is used by South Perth and hundreds of other hospitals and clinics around Australia to manage their workflow electronically.
South Perth Hospital CEO Marcia Everett said ePAS, which had been operating successfully for about two months, allowed the hospital to provide more efficient care and service for patients.
Our hospital prides itself on the high standards we demand for everything we do, Ms Everett said. The new e-PAS system helps us meet those quality standards because we can keep track of every event concerning patients from the time they are admitted until they are discharged.
South Perth Hospital implemented e-PAS to replace its existing patient administration system to provide the hospital with greater functionality. e-PAS is also extremely reliable and has the ability to operate with many other hospital systems. For example by using the Global Health e-switch messaging tool in conjunction with e-PAS, South Perth Hospital was able to retain its existing general ledger financial system which accepts the necessary patient billing information from e-PAS.
Developed in Melbourne, e-PAS is an advanced web-based suite of software applications that access systems throughout the hospital to track patient movements and update records such as admissions, theatre scheduling and accounts.
