Waterfront Brisbane app delivers new approach to community engagement

Announcement posted by DeAnte 07 Mar 2023

BRISBANE – 7 MAR 2023 – The $2.5 billion Waterfront Brisbane project by property leader Dexus stands as a shining example of innovative development thanks to a ground-breaking approach to community engagement.

The Waterfront Brisbane app, designed by digital experience consultancy DeAnte, is playing a critical role in reducing community impact throughout the construction process.

Jenna Cunningham, co-founder, DeAnte said, “We are proud to partner with Dexus as it reimagines a key precinct on Brisbane’s waterfront. Dexus’s investment in a customisable community engagement app and platform will not only support its efforts to minimise construction impact but will take it the next step in building positive relationships and goodwill with the community.”

“Waterfront Brisbane is an iconic development in Brisbane,” said Waterfront Brisbane Project Director Matthew Beasley, “and with a construction timeline of five years, we want to keep the community updated and informed.”

“We know the community is excited to see Waterfront Brisbane come to life, and through the app they will be able to follow our progress, get construction updates, be notified of any traffic or access changes and ask us any questions they might have – all in real time.”

Beasley said interest in the app had exceeded expectations.

“We have had an overwhelming response to the app in the first month, which shows the power of engaging with the community in a way that resonates by matching with their digital habits and preferences,” he said.

The Waterfront Brisbane app is on the Apple App Store and Google Play and provides a one-stop shop for the community where they can get real time project updates, ask questions, and set up customised alerts.

The app experience can be personalised to ensure users receive relevant updates based on their location and commuting habits. It also provides the opportunity to participate in community initiatives and giveaways throughout the construction process.

About Waterfront Brisbane

Construction of the first stage of Dexus’s and Dexus Wholesale Property Fund’s (DWPF’s) $2.5 billion Waterfront Brisbane is underway with builder John Holland Group now on site.

A five-year construction program will deliver a global-standard business and leisure destination that celebrates its prime riverside location with enhanced open public spaces and amenity and a revitalised premier waterfront dining hub.

Waterfront Brisbane will revitalise the Eagle Street precinct as a thriving retail and leisure destination and create public space with river views and generous green spaces leading up to the river’s edge.

The Eagle Street Pier restaurant complex will make way for two new office buildings (52 and 44 storeys) and premium riverfront retail, creating an iconic riverside destination that includes a new, wider section of riverwalk and improved links between the river and the city streets.
