WNBL Finals: Southside Flyers take the win in the Semi-Final decider against Melbourne Boomers (73-72)
Announcement posted by Basketball Australia 15 Mar 2023
An incredible team performance gave the Flyers a one-point edge in the final moments of their excruciatingly close bout against cross-town rivals, Melbourne Boomers.

With both teams being evenly matched, the 1,800 attendants at the State Basketball Centre this Wednesday night, were given an epic display of determination from each side as they desperately hustled for points in what was the closest game so far in the 2022/23 Finals Series.
Star players, Maddi Rocci and Sara Blicavs were on the scoring frontlines, with Rocci hitting the most crucial three-point of the game to give Southside their lead in the final moments of the fourth term. Meanwhile, Abbey Bishop was working hard on the defensive end to get rebounds and hold off Melbourne’s Cayla George and Tiffany Mitchell from scoring.
