RoyAl’s Launches “Celebrity Burger” To Raise $100,000 for Charity

Announcement posted by The Munch 28 Mar 2023

We Hope You Are Hungry!

RoyAl’s, the popular Perth burger restaurant, has launched a new initiative called “Celebrity Burger,” which is aimed at raising $100,000 for charity in 2023. To achieve this ambitious goal, the company is rallying up a team of celebrities who will be creating their own RoyAl’s burger with 50% of the proceeds from each burger going to the celebrity’s charity of choice.

“We’re experiencing tough times at the moment, and it's only going to get tougher in terms of the cost of living, housing shortages and other price rises in Perth. In this situation, I believe the best thing to do is double down on our service to the community.

Celebrity Burger does this by raising awareness and funds for a charity who works directly with the community; as well as promoting a personal side to the celebrities who collaborate with us to create a burger.”

- Ken Craigie, Owner & Director of RoyAl’s.

Working with local and international celebrities, RoyAl’s are entrusting their kitchen with the celebrity who will work with Al (from RoyAl’s) to come up with their very own burger combination. The brief: make it a burger and make it the best damn thing you’ve ever eaten. The rest is up to them. You can expect to see surprising burger combinations that are going to be an absolute explosion of flavour.

Every fortnight there will be a new celebrity, a new Celebrity Burger and a new charity. If you spot a burger that catches your fancy or a cause you want to contribute to, be sure to jump on the opportunity quick before the 2 weeks run out.

With the initiative kicking off in March 2023, so far RoyAl’s have seen the ‘Che'iesta Burger’ from Malaysian Australian recording artist and songwriter Che'Nelle, also known as the ‘Princess of Love’ in Japan. Che’Nelle nominated Mettle Women as her charity, an organisation that employs women who are experiencing homelessness due to domestic and family violence, creating thoughtful gift boxes that are shipped internationally.

Following Che’Nelle, RoyAl’s welcomed renowned WA artist Hans Bruechle aka Handbrake Design. Who mixed things up with a mouth-watering dessert-styled burger “The Handbrake Cherry.” Hans nominated Youth Focus WA for donations, which delivers frontline services and education to promote mental well-being to help young people with symptoms associated with suicide, depression, anxiety and self harm.

Just announced, RoyAl’s will be releasing a fried chicken delicacy “Chick-For-Ray” created by the legendary 'music guy' from Swan City Youth Service—Ray Tanielu. Ray will be raising money for the Swan City Youth Centre Service, a center providing “a home away from home” for disadvantaged youths throughout the Midland area.

“The charity means a lot to my heart, it’s definitely a privilege to be a part of this cause from RoyAl’s. The money from the burgers will be funded towards helping youths obtain a lot of services we take for granted, for example; obtaining IDs and medication. The money will also flow through the centre’s programs as well as helping us attract staff.

I know a lot of people want to get involved in charities but they’re unsure how. With Celebrity Burger, you can help someone in need by simply enjoying a burger. You don’t need to do much!

I know the RoyAl’s boys pretty well and I’ve secretly been waiting for this moment to make my own burger. With the Chick-For-Ray, I’ve kept it simple and kept it delicious. Just how I like it.”

- Ray Tanielu, General Manager at Swan City Youth Centre.

By supporting the Celebrity Burger, customers will not only indulge in a delicious meal and satisfy their burger cravings, but they will also make a positive impact in the community. Next time you’re hankering for a burger, contribute to the cause and order RoyAl’s Celebrity Burger.
