Locals unveil new game changing product for runners

Two local running enthusiasts based out of Sydney, Australia, have developed a new gadget that they say will become every runner’s new best friend.

Invented in the Northern Beaches suburb of North Curl Curl and tried and tested by local Parkrun participants, RUNNERS GRIPS have been designed to improve posture, maximise oxygen intake and minimise muscle soreness and injuries for runners and walkers.

The design was born from personal experience says co-Founder Chris Schroefl.

“The design came out of necessity. I like to run to keep fit and healthy but I also work very long and stressful hours in my IT business. This means a lot of sitting at my desk with tense muscles, which is draining on the posture. To go from that position to a running position at the end of a long day is basically an injury waiting to happen.

“While many running devices these days are focussed on collecting statistics about running distance and performance, our product focuses on HOW we actually run or walk. The correct, healthy posture will turn a good run or walk into a great one.

“The RUNNERS GRIPS have been developed, tested, and continuously refined for more than three years and six product iterations and we’ve been testing them with runners locally and the feedback so far has been so positive.”

And here is the science behind it:

  • Connection of the biomechanic kinetic chain of hands/arms/upper body/lower body/legs for better synchronisation and balance
  • Stimulation of the hands (sensory neurons) synchronises and acts as a feedback provider to the running motion (motor neuronal system

Using the ergonomic RUNNERS GRIPS is simple - they are held in your hands with a light touch and allow you to relax your hands and fingers in an ideal position. The positive effect flows through the arms and upper body posture and beyond.

The GRIPS come in five sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL) and multiple colors and are measured up based on the width of the user’s hands.

They are produced locally in Sydney and use PLA, a biodegradable environmentally friendly material.
