AgSmart Expo 2023 has just wrapped at the Bendigo Exhibition Centre in Victoria. The event has been a success with hundreds of on-site visitors over the two-days immersing themselves in the very latest in agtech, innovation, sustainability and research.
With technology rapidly changing and advancing, AgSmart gave primary producers a chance to see the latest developments in agricultural practices firsthand. Attendees were able to speak directly with the exhibitors, ranging from the world's leading machinery manufacturers to new agtech startups, and learn about new technology in farming applications, farm machinery and equipment.
The event was run by ACM Rural Events who have a wealth of experience coordinating some of Australia's biggest field days including AgQuip in NSW and FarmFest in Qld, and general manager Kate Nugent said staging an event around agtech was exciting.
"As the sun sets on the first AgSmart 2023 Victoria, the exhibitors have hailed it a success with the quality of visitors to the event - some who have travelled over five hours and more to attend Australia's premier primary industry agtech and innovation event in Bendigo.
"Exhibitors reported high engagement from the hundreds of pastoralists, land holders, agriculturalists and orchardists, and agricultural students who attended the two-day event - with leads and sales - and exceptional interest in the Seminar Sessions, sponsored by Lowes Petroleum.
"AgSmart Expo is set to become a special feature on the national agri-calendar," said Ms Nugent.
The expo also included the Agtech Angel Investor Network's (AAIN) inaugural 'Pitch to Paddock' event which serves as a vital platform for bridging the gap between AgTech innovators and industry stakeholders. Aussie Wine Group (AWG) were the proud winners and secured the coveted $10,000 prize by pitching for success. Their grape sorters have become the cornerstone of sustainable vineyard practices, as they effectively convert MOG into organic matter during harvest, eliminating the need for costly transportation and processing at the winery. This approach not only enhances grape quality but also contributes to a more environmentally responsible winemaking process.
AgSmart was an important event for the agricultural community to connect, to see the latest in innovation and technology, and to learn about the latest trends in primary production so we can continue to drive future productivity and profitability for our farming nation.
