These workshops also provide valuable insights into patient outcomes and professional career prospects.

Keynote Speaker: Andrew Swindells - Author and Legal Counsel
Andrew Swindells brings over 40 years of legal experience to the ICCM workshop series, including 15 years as a barrister and former Drug Law Enforcement Officer with the AFP. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences with a focus on Psychology, Sociology, and Australian Social History. Andrew's experiences as a legal consultant in Crimes Against Humanity in Sierra Leone prompted him to write the thought-provoking book, 'How to Deal Drugs and Get Away with It! A Reality Check on Drug Law Enforcement.'
During the workshop series, Andrew Swindells will discuss the legalisation processes of traditional plant medicines, including medicinal cannabis, within the Australian system. His presentation will address patient rights, the existing barriers to access, and open the floor for a discussion on the current state of affairs and the potential future developments, particularly within the context of human rights.
