MedReleaf Australia Launches Sustainability Initiative with CleanHub

Announcement posted by MedReleaf Australia 25 Jan 2024

MedReleaf Australia announces its commitment to offset its plastic waste usage by partnering with CleanHub, an innovative environmental organisation working to end the global plastic crisis.

As part of the partnership, MedReleaf Australia has pledged to fund the collection of 5000 kg of plastic waste in South Asia and Southeast Asia during 2024. These regions are the primary gateway for over 80% of plastic entering the ocean.

MedReleaf Australia CEO Russell Harding says the company is committed to the partnership with CleanHub as a crucial step towards becoming more environmentally sustainable.

"Teaming up with CleanHub means taking responsibility for our environmental impact and actively addressing the plastic crisis, particularly in the most affected regions. We already have a well-functioning waste disposal system here in Australia, so Cleanhub intervenes in countries where the problem is most urgent and enables us to contribute positively on a global scale."

CleanHub leverages technology to prevent plastic from entering the sea by establishing local waste management systems in regions lacking the proper infrastructure. The partnership between MedReleaf Australia and CleanHub will not only contribute to cleaner oceans but also empower local communities through the creation of sustainable job opportunities.

"CleanHub's approach aligns with our commitment to making a positive long-term impact on the environment and our society. This collaboration underscores MedReleaf Australia's dedication to environmental sustainability and our role in mitigating the plastic crisis," Harding said.
