Summary
Saturday night's matchup saw Adelaide Lightning take on the Melbourne Boomers on Adelaide's home soil. The final score saw the Lightning take out the win with a final score of 70-61.
Both teams came out firing in the opening quarter, producing an exciting first term. Melbourne lead the majority of this quarter, with Adelaide being able to produce a late surge to head into the second quarter with a 5 point lead. The second quarter saw Adelaide continue their momentum. Both teams continued to fight in a tight tussle, but Adelaide was able to extend their lead to 42-33 going into half time.
The second half saw both teams come out strong. Boomers were able to close the gap in their deficit in the opening minutes of the third quarter, however Adelaide were able to once again produce a last minute surge and finish the third term with a score of 57-48. The Boomers put up a fight in the final quarter and were able to come within 2 points of the Lightning within the last few minutes. But Adelaide once again proved to be too good on the night, ultimately coming out with the win.
