The final quarter saw Sydney try to surge forward and take the lead away coming within 4 points of the Fire, but Townsville were able to solidify their spot on top of the ladder and come out with the win.

The result of this game cements Townsville's top spot on the ladder at the end of the regular season, leaving Sydney narrowly missing finals.
