Certified Organic Input Snail and Slug killer - a low toxic alternative

Protect-us Mineral Snail and Slug Killer is a natural, low toxic alternative to synthetic chemical metaldehyde and methiocarb baits, that displays higher levels of control and protection. It is the only snail and slug killer which is a certified Australian Organic Input for use when growing organic and biodynamic produce.

The bait's palatability targets all snail and slug species, who are lured from their hiding places by the highly attractive food source. Protect-us pellets are designed to ensure they are the right size and consistency for the snails's radula (tongue) to scrape the surface and ingest the bait.

Only once it is ingested is it activated by the low pH gastric digestive fluid inside the snail's alimentary system. The gastric juices solubilise the natural iron in Protect-us and bind it with a chelating agent to form a soluble iron salt within the snail's stomach. This iron salt causes snails and slugs to stop feeding, protecting your plants, and leading to the death of the molluscs. This unique mode of activation within the stomach of the snails and slugs is what makes the bait low risk to people and dogs.
