Announcement posted by LIFESTART FOUNDATION 01 Mar 2024

Quang Nam, February 2024 - Lifestart Foundation (LSF), in collaboration with the Quang Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, recently visited Dong Giang district and provided much-needed Tet gifts to disadvantaged students in celebration of the Vietnamese Lunar New Year 2024.

During the visit, Lifestart Foundation distributed essential items to ethnic minority students facing difficult circumstances at Phan Chau Trinh Secondary School in Song Kon Commune. The donations included 60 hamper boxes, 8 new bicycles, and 123 reference books. The total cost of the gifts exceeded $2,000 USD (approximately 50,000,000 VND). This initiative benefited more than 186 disadvantaged students and teachers.

With the aim of ensuring these students have a warm and fulfilling Tet holiday, as well as the means to attend school and access academic resources in the school library, Lifestart Foundation joyfully provided food parcels containing rice, cooking oil, fish sauce, soy sauce, washing powder, shampoo, toothpaste, and dish detergent, along with bicycles and reference books to underprivileged students in Quang Nam before the start of the Lunar New Year 2024.

According to Karen Leonard, the founder of Lifestart Foundation, "We always emphasize the importance of education, health, and the quality of life for underprivileged students. Therefore, providing gifts during Tet holiday is one of the foundation's annual projects. We hope that the provision of these donations will help to reduce the financial burdens in their families and empower them in life."

The donation of reference books is an essential activity with the aim of enriching the study material sources at school as well as equipping the school with suitable books for each year level.

Dong Giang District, located approximately 80 km from Hoi An, is one of the nine mountainous districts in Quang Nam Province, predominantly inhabited by the Cotu ethnic minority.

Prior to this donation, Lifestart Foundation also presented 100 gift sets to Ca Dong ethnic students at the Tra Don Boarding Ethnic Secondary School in Nam Tra My. The total value of the gifts donated in Nam Tra My exceeded 42 million VND.

Lifestart Foundation recently made a generous contribution by donating approximately 1,500 bottles of milk to 80 disadvantaged patients at the Department of Pediatrics of Quang Nam Regional General Hospital, located in Dien Ban Town.

In 2023, Lifestart Foundation also undertook several significant community projects, including providing bicycles to students in Phuoc Son and Nam Giang districts (with a value of over 80,000,000 VND), donating 15 smart 65-inch televisions and wall mounts to 10 schools in Phuoc Son District (with a value of over 220,000,000 VND), and installing clean water systems for 10 schools in remote areas of Quang Nam (with a value of 454,000,000 VND), among many other activities.
