Mark Vincent celebrates 15 years ... The Best So Far

Announcement posted by Jameson & Co 12 Mar 2024

Performing regional concerts in NSW, VIC & SA in June and July

Celebrating fifteen years since he since he stunned an entire nation with his powerful tenor voice at the tender age of fifteen, Mark Vincent will perform a series of regional concerts titled Mark Vincent - The Best So Far in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia in June and July.

Vincent's love for opera began at a very early age, thanks to his beloved grandfather, who introduced him as a young boy to the dulcet tones of Mario Lanza, setting him on a path that would shape him into the talented artist we know today.

Now 30 years old and a happily married father of three, Vincent has spent half his life entertaining audiences around Australia and overseas after being crowned the winner of Australia's Got Talent in 2009.

It was his extraordinary, emotive rendition of Puccini's Nessun Dorma that propelled him to stardom and these concerts will see him perform this and many other signature songs from his recording career, including Hallelujah, My Way and many more.

About Mark Vincent

With his Italian heritage, Mark is the real deal. At the age of nine years old, when most kids are still playing with toys and having sleepovers, Mark was listening to and studying the voice that would forever inspire him, Mario Lanza. He vowed then to follow in the footsteps of Mario and his other heroes, Luciano Pavarotti, and Andrea Bocelli. He could only have dreamed of what was to come.

Immediately following his win on Australia's Got Talent, Mark was signed to Sony Music. The next five years were filled with successful tours, record breaking sales, chart topping recordings and the recognition from his peers and the public. Now, at the age of 30, he has already recorded and released ten albums on the Sony label, with eight of these albums having reached #1 on the ARIA Classical Crossover charts, and several releases having enjoyed great success atop the ARIA national charts, an extraordinary feat.

One album in particular was a dream come true. In 2017 he released A Tribute to Mario Lanza, which contains the groundbreaking 'virtual duet' of Because You're Mine with the Hollywood legend himself. The 'duet' made headlines and received the blessings of Mario Lanza's daughter, Ellisa Lanza Bregman, who gave permission for the re-recording.

Having had the chance to sing with one of his childhood heroes, Mark was on cloud nine just last year (2023) when he was invited to join Andrea Bocelli for lunch at his home. To befriend the man and have his respect and blessings was beyond anything that the young Mark could have wished for. On top of that, Mark was given a song by Andrea's producer that was originally earmarked for the legendary tenor. Mark has now recorded that track and will be releasing it later this year to much anticipation.

As well as his hugely successful recording career, Mark has performed to packed crowds across the globe, both solo and alongside the biggest stars in the genre. In 2017, he concluded a stellar year with a national headline tour of Australia, followed by a sold-out tour of the United Kingdom, as a special guest of world- renowned soprano, Katherine Jenkins, performing iconic venues including, The Royal Albert Hall London and the Royal Concert Hall Glasgow. 2018 saw him performing in Ireland for a series of performances with Irish tenor Tommy Flemming. In September 2019 he was invited to Belfast, Ireland, to perform at the BBC Proms in the Park as special guest of Britain's Got Talent and multi-million selling recording artist, Susan Boyle

In addition to his own yearly Christmas concert event, Mark has been a constant regular of Carols in the Domain, which takes place in Sydney and draws an audience of up to 80,000 people and is broadcast nationally by the Seven Network.

Mark has also displayed great diversity in his talents. Showcasing a whole different side of himself, he garnered wonderful reviews for his role as Billy in the Australian national theatre production of Dirty Dancing. Following this, he was personally cast in the role of Freddy Einsfield Hill by Dame Julie Andrews when she took the director's chair in the Australian national production of My Fair Lady - a period that Mark counts as another of his career highlights.

It's been an incredible journey since winning Australia's Got Talent, 15 years ago. It's the stuff that dreams are made of. Yet, Mark Vincent has so many more dreams to realise and millions more people to sing for.
