S-5! Solar Expert Presents at Solar + Storage Live Australia & Introduces New Solar Mounting Components for Metal Roofs

(Melbourne, - April 3, 2024) S-5!, the leading authority on solar mounting technology for metal roofs, will introduce its rail-less, direct-attach solar solutions next month at Solar+Storage Live Australia 2024 in Brisbane. Additionally, S-5!'s solar expert will present in the conference program, allowing attendees to earn 10 CPD points.

On Wednesday, May 1 beginning at 14.30 hrs., Bernie Dombroski, Managing Director of Solar Partners NZ and S-5! expert installer will present "The Rail-Less Revolution." This dynamic training offers insights into rail-less solar mounting. Dombroski has first-hand knowledge and experience in installing both rail and rail-less systems. He will demonstrate how rails offer only 12.11% contact with solar modules and the roof, with 87.9% of the rail used for earthing and cable control, resulting in unnecessary weight and costs. Direct-attach systems like the PVKIT provide 100% contact with the modules and roof, eliminating waste and allowing scalability for challenging loads. The system offers ultimate flexibility for module placement, allowing the maximum number of solar panels to be installed on a rooftop surface.

Additionally, S-5! is launching two new solar mounting system components — the MLPE Mount™  and the Protea™ II.

· The MLPE Mount provides a quick and cost-effective method for attaching module-level power electronics directly to solar PV module frames. Designed for use with most solar modules, the MLPE Mount secures optimizers and microinverters along the underside of the module frame at desired locations so wire management is simplified, while electrically bonding the equipment together to easily comply with grounding requirements.

· Protea II is a versatile bracket for mounting solar PV to trapezoidal rib (single-skin and insulated) metal panel roofs. Used for both rail and rail-less systems, this bracket features an adjustable attachment base with a top length of up to 90 mm.
