Qld’s Perentie Brewing Co. emerges as a leading specialist in authentic lager beers following second award win in first 6 months of trade

Taking out four awards including the trophy for 'Best Amber/Dark Lager', Perentie Brewing Co. proudly announces its success at the 2024 Australian International Beer Awards, held on Thursday 16th of May 2024.

 

Leading on from the recent eight awards at the Royal Queensland Beer Awards earlier this year, and now adding the title of 2024 Australian International Beer Awards 'Best Amber/Dark Lager' in the fiercely contested Lager category for its Komodo Black brew, Perentie Brewing Co. is quickly emerging as an Aussie specialist in authentic lager beers.

As Perentie Brewing Co. steamrolls through its first 6 months of trade, the brewery remains focused on delivering

the quality of its exceptional lagers while staying true to its roots of quality, traditional techniques and passion. With a growing interest for Logan's new brewery on the block, the future looks brighter than ever for this impressive brewery.

 

Showcasing Australia's best in industry, the Australian International Beer Awards is one of Australia's most prestigious beer awards, uncovering the nation's top beer products which go on to be showcased on the international beer stage.

 

With more than 2,500 beers tasted, from over 400 breweries representing 23 countries, a team of 84 judges, including 15 international judges judged the brews over a massive four days leading up to the awards presentation.

 

Perentie Brewing Co. took out the following slew of awards: 

 

  • Category Trophy Winner - Best Amber/Dark Lager - Komodo Black

 

  • Class 2A - Munich Style Helles (Best European-Style Lager)
    • Bronze - Pure Crisp

 

  • Class 2G - German-Style Leichtbier (Best European-Style Lager)
    • Bronze - Summer Dry

 

  • Class 5B - German Style Schwarzbier
    • Gold - Komodo Black                           

 

The brainchild of Zarraffa's Coffee Founder, Kenton Campbell, Perentie Brewing Co. forms part of the 17,000sqm lifestyle and entertainment hub developed by Mr Campbell, at Distillery Road Market (DRM), and is a purpose-built, $6 million-dollar brewery specialising in authentic lager beers.

 

With a total 68 taps of beer throughout the precinct, 40 dedicated to Perentie's own brews, all beer is brewed, kegged and canned onsite in Perentie's state-of-the-art production facility that has the capacity to brew 1 million litres of beer per year. 

 

The brewery is named after Australia's largest monitor lizard, the Perentie, which is native to the outback.
