A TASTE OF MODERN MEDITERRANEAN DINING AT MEDÉ

The owners of MELROSE Restaurant & Rooftop Bar, Bulimba are adding another restaurant to their growing portfolio.

Paul & Anna Adams are pleased to announce they will be opening MEDÉ Modern Mediterranean, at 161 Oxford Street, Bulimba (the old King Crab Co site), mid-September.

Paul and Anna aim to create a relaxed, yet refined mediterranean dining experience that makes people feel like they are on a holiday.  

"Mediterranean food is all about freshness and vibrancy, where the individual ingredients are allowed to stand out.  Combined with amazing wines from around the world, or a classic cocktail, what better way to spend the day.

"Our philosophy like at MELROSE is around the joy of sharing and with a modern take on centuries-old culinary traditions, our newly appointed Head Chef Sam Richards (Cloudland and Manly Boathouse) is creating a menu that blends modern sophistication with rich culinary traditions. 

"Our aim is to take customers on an unforgettable journey full of vibrant, dynamic flavours from all regions of the Mediterranean, reimagined with a modern twist," said Anna & Paul.

"Expect rich, grass-fed meats paired with light and refreshing sauces, local seafood enhanced by simple garnishes that highlight its quality. All fish will be line-caught, and we'll even be able to tell you the fisherman's name," said Sam. 

"Our beef will be grass-fed, and our lamb will be organic. 

"Desserts will be a playful end to the meal, focusing on simple, nostalgic favourites with a Mediterranean twist. 

The menu is testament to my culinary ethos: "made with love and few of my Nonna's secrets," Sam said.

Brooke Harlander from Retail Collective Co has been engaged to lead the design and fit out of MEDÉ bringing a brighter and cleaner fit out to this premium corner location. 

On choosing to start another restaurant in Bulimba, Anna & Paul said, "As fellow locals, we love being part of the local community and seeing regular faces at MELROSE.  We have always been proud of the amazing feedback we constantly receive from MELROSE patrons and despite the pressures facing the hospitality industry at present, and the economy as a whole, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to expand.  Bulimba is a beautiful place to be and with all the new development going on around the suburb, we can only see better things for it," they said.

Whether you are after a casual lunch, intimate dinner or special celebration, MEDÉ Modern Mediterranean is set to become another favourite on the Oxford Street restaurant strip.
