Westward Whiskey, Stomping Ground, and Proud Mary Coffee Unveil Exciting New Collaboration: A Globetrotting Boilermaker Pairing

Westward Whiskey Small Batch Selection Strong Ale with Coffee Cask Finish is a new whiskey aged in barrels that held the trio's last collaboration (Westward Whiskey Barrel-Aged Strong Ale with Coffee, released to great acclaim in 2022). This whiskey is offered alongside Stomping Ground Into The 'Wood 2024 Series, Whiskey Barrel-Aged Strong Ale with Coffee. 

This special Boilermaker bundle marks the culmination of a five-year journey. It all began when Westward Whiskey sent their American oak barrels that previously held American Single Malt to Stomping Ground. Together, Westward Master Blender Miles Munroe and Stomping Ground Head Brewer Ashur Hall then brewed a Strong Ale infused with Proud Mary coffee (Westward Whiskey Barrel-Aged Ale with Coffee). Following its 2022 release, Westward filled those same casks with mature Westward Whiskey to create this new ultimate whiskey offering. Finished for 18 months, the end result is a mingle of 3 exclusive barrels that have journeyed around the world to create Westward Whiskey Small Batch Selection Strong Ale with Coffee Cask Finish.

With the perfect Boilermaker in mind, these same barrels were then repurposed to complete this epic collaboration, where Stomping Ground brewed INTO THE 'WOOD 2024 SERIES, a Strong Ale  infused with Proud Mary Coffee.

PROOF & TASTING NOTES

Westward Whiskey Small Batch Selection Strong Ale with Coffee Cask Finish
Bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof)
Aroma: Rich strawberries and cream, with bright grass, toasted almond, mint, marmalade, and walnut
Palate: Sweet cocoa and fruit, reminiscent of Tootsie Rolls; toffee and blueberry with hints of grain and beer 
Finish: Big coffee flavours linger, along with citrus, geranium and more nuttiness. Roasted nuts, more chocolate and dark roast coffee finish out the experience.

Bottled at 10% ABV
Proud Mary cold brew and golden syrup was added to this Strong Ale after months resting in Westward Whiskey barrels, layering roasty espresso, chocolate, delicate blackberry subtleties and sticky caramelized character, over the ingrained oak and vanilla notes.
