Aboriginal Incursions for Schools and Early Learning Centres

Announcement posted by Blue Tongue Management Pty Ltd 14 Oct 2024

Providing traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and knowledge presented in inclusive cultural incursions for all Australian students, teachers and educators.

The Australian Curriculum has emphasised learning Aboriginal history and Aboriginal culture to engage all students in reconciliation, respect, and recognition of traditional owners.

Connie, Sienna and Krystal Dawson run their 100% woman and majority Aboriginal owned business Aboriginal Incursions delivering immersive First Nations Education workshops and culture to the schools and early learning centres.

Aboriginal Incursions provide cultural learning opportunities for whole schools, individual classes, pre-schools, students and teachers to learn about and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and knowledge. Aboriginal Incursions are all presented with authentic Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander educators and cultural workshop facilitators.

Aboriginal Incursions First Nations Education immersions are entwined with contemporary aboriginal entertainment to keep our Incursions exciting and fun for students and teachers. This helps all participants enjoy the education and retain the knowledge learned.

Connie Dawson has been presenting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural Incursions into schools and early learning centres Australia-wide well before Indigenous culture was added to the Australian Curriculum. Her experience and ability to customise Aboriginal workshops to suit each institutions requirements and size make her the go to person for principles, headmasters, teachers and school staff. All our facilitators are Working With Children Certified.

A parent herself, with teenage Aboriginal daughters, Krystal and Sienna are now actively involved in the future of the company and are themselves amazing representatives of their culture.

Aboriginal Inclusions programs enrich each schools cultural understanding and provide opportunities for students and teachers to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples first-hand. Our educators help develop students' identities where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and knowledge are a part of each individual student's identity.

We also increase the indigenous economy and create income streams for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Aboriginal Incursions and our First Nations Education programs are designed to educate and entertain students of all diversities and back-grounds to engage in reconciliation, respect and recognition of the world's oldest continuous living cultures.
