Call Direct Acquired by NetComm

Shareholders of NetComm Limited have approved the acquisition of Call Direct Cellular Solutions. The acquisition offers NetComm access to Call Direct’s world-renowned expertise as a developer of industrial 3G wireless technologies.

Given NetComm’s strengths in the marketing and distribution of communications technologies, as well as their access to manufacturing resources, both firms will gain a great deal from the acquisition.

Call Direct has built a significant reputation over the years as a specialist developer of industrial 3G wireless technology. They have had particular success in developing equipment for use in remote or hostile environments and systems designed for unmanned operation. This has included work with clients such as Telstra and the Bureau of Meteorology.

This strong intellectual property will deepen NetComm’s offerings and expand its range to suit a broader range of international markets.  The deal delivers NetComm a profitable industrial arm that will provide a new industrial customer base and generate synergistic savings across the two companies.

The Managing Director of Call Direct, Barry Mitchell, says that he and his team are excited by the opportunities that NetComm can offer them.

Mitchell and his fellow Call Direct founder Michael Cornelius will bring five engineering and four support staff with them to Netcomm, ensuring continuity in the development and support of the company’s 3G products.
