Winners recognised for contributions to innovation in digital government, excellence in communications, service delivery and digital transformation

SYDNEY, Australia - 27 November 2024Granicus, the leading provider in Australia and New Zealand government technology, has today announced the winners of its 2024 Digital Government Awards. Since 2010, Granicus' annual awards program has honoured organisations and individuals in the public sector who have embraced innovative solutions to improve citizen experiences.

The winners of the Granicus 2024 Digital Government Awards for Australia & New Zealand are:
 

  • Changemaker of the Year - City of Gold Coast (QLD) - Recognised for the success of its 'What's on Gold Coast' project, and positive outcomes in community engagement and customer feedback.
     
  • Community Engagement Award - The City of Unley (SA) - Celebrated for its conscientious community engagement approach to its 'Shaping Unley - Building Greener Neighbourhoods Together' Project.
     
  • Operational Excellence Award - Department of Customer Service NSW (NSW) - Awarded for its digital-first 'Government Technology Platforms (GTP) AMANDA DevOps Uplift Project' to increase operational efficiencies, reduce costs, and better support the NSW Government workforce. 
     
  • Service Delivery Award - Woollahra Municipal Council (NSW) - For its use of human-centric design and community engagement to develop the digital services people want, such as its 'Resident Parking Permit Process Project', with the exceptional user experience they expect. 
     
  • Website of the Year (People's Choice) - City of Gold Coast (QLD) - Celebrated for the design of its intuitive and user-centric 'What's on Gold Coast' website, with enhancements to improve accessibility, functionality, search optimisation, and website navigation for customers. 

 

Almost 60 per cent of local governments in Australia leverage Granicus' solutions to continuously improve community engagement.

"The City of Unley is recognised by the United Nations as one of Australia's three 'Tree Cities of the World'. We are committed to building greener neighbourhoods with the aim of increasing tree canopy cover to 31% by 2045. Using innovative solutions, Council was able to implement a digital-first approach to its Shaping Unley Community Engagement Framework to deliver the 'Building greener neighbourhoods together' project. We are proud of our community-led project and Granicus' recognition."
