with global smash-hit show LIMBO

After a sell-out and extended season of Blanc de Blanc Encore in 2024, Hobart's favourite pop-up destination The Spiegeltent will be back at Macquarie Point 4 Apr - 11 May 2025.
Strut & Fret is excited to unveil the international cast of the much-anticipated 2025 headline show, LIMBO.
If you've been left spellbound by previous Strut & Fret performances, such as the acclaimed Blanc de Blanc; the outrageously entertaining Deluxe Deluxe; or the award-winning and original LIMBO; you're in for a treat.
LIMBO promises to deliver an exhilarating reimagining of the award-winning festival favourite, featuring circus luminaries from around the world, accompanied by a live band like you've never heard before.
The jaw-dropping circus-cabaret extravaganza is an even bigger and more spectacular rendition of the acclaimed original LIMBO which toured to no less than 17 countries, wowing audiences from Brussels to Bogota with its stunning fire-breathing and gravity-defying stunts. It's a show so hot, MADONNA came twice.
Composer and musical maverick, Sxip Shirey who hails from New York, is the mastermind behind the show's unique sound. "I have composed for circus, for dance, for theatre, and for main stage opera and orchestras. I have performed at TED, and I have written songs for people like Rhiannon Giddens and Puddles Pity Party. But LIMBO has its own brand of magnificence and what we have created with LIMBO - it's more wildly exciting than ever." says Sxip.
LIMBO's extraordinary maestro Mick Stuart leads a motley band of multi-instrumentalists performing Sxip Shirey's signature Jank sound, inspired by New Orleans big brass bands, hip-hop, electronic and Balkan music. Mick invented his own instrument the Polymba, adding to the show's unforgettable sound. Mick performed in the multi Helpmann award winning Keating! The Musical, and with a slew of live bands such as Eddie Perfect & The Renovators. He is joined by second Seattle-born musician Andrew McGovern who has shared the stage with superstars including Rod Stewart and Norah Jones.
Hailing from Avignon France, Mikael Bres is a dynamic and multifaceted performer, seamlessly blending his expertise in Chinese pole with dance, comedy, and musical talents. His performances are a harmonious fusion of traditional pole techniques and a unique comedic flair, captivating audiences with a delightful blend of physical prowess and entertainment. Beyond his prowess on the pole, Mikael is an accomplished musician, adding a melodic and rhythmic dimension to his shows.
Austrian Maria Moncheva began her career as a ballet dancer before developing her skills as an astonishing aerial chains performer. She has also appeared in major musicals across Europe such as Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Rock of Ages, as well as on Dancing with the Stars Austria.
Sydney performing artist Hilton Denis (So You Think You Can Dance Top 20) has toured the world with LIMBO for years. Between shows he found the time to star as Clyde Thompson in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis, amongst other on-screen acting roles.
Highly accomplished UK circus artist Ben Loader has performed all over the world in theatre and cabaret shows, and specialises in aerial rope, heightened even further by his captivating performance skills.
LIMBO is a high-powered extravaganza that will leave you gasping for air and begging for more.
Chances are you'll want to see it twice like MADONNA did, too.
