Announcement posted by LIFESTART FOUNDATION 10 Dec 2024

Da Nang, Vietnam (November 2024) - Lifestart Foundation, an Australian organization dedicated to empowering disadvantaged children, has recently partnered with the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations to deliver an impactful donation of advanced medical equipment, fresh milk, furniture and children's books to Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children. Valued at over 1.82 billion VND, this donation aims to elevate healthcare quality for pediatric and obstetric patients across Central Vietnam.

Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children has been a leading healthcare facility since its establishment in mid-2012, providing specialized obstetric and pediatric care not only to Da Nang but also to the broader Central and Central Highlands regions. With 38 departments, and 1,510 beds, the hospital serves women and children with serious health conditions. As patient numbers continue to grow, the hospital's demand for advanced medical equipment has also increased to meet the needs of effective diagnosis and treatment.

Beyond medical needs, many pediatric patients at the hospital face challenging circumstances, often requiring long-term treatment. To support their full recovery, both physically and emotionally, essential resources like nutritional milk and a playroom are crucial.

Recognizing this, Lifestart Foundation has committed to providing resources that enhance both the quality of medical care and the overall well-being of these young patients during their hospital stay. Karen Leonard OAM, founder of Lifestart Foundation announced this major donation to Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children. The donation includes critical medical equipment worth approximately 1.81 billion VND, consisting of a five-parameter patient monitors (model PVM-4761), four infusion pumps (Terumo model: TE-LF630/TE*LF630N03), a soft-tissue biopsy gun (Magnum MG1522), a general ultrasound machine (Model Versana Balance) and a cutting-edge 32-channel video EEG machine (Model EEG32U)

This equipment was allocated to the hospital's key departments, including the Pediatric General Department and the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, to directly enhance their diagnostic and treatment capacities.

In addition to the medical equipment, Lifestart Foundation provided 720 packets of fresh milk, 50 chairs, 79 children's storybooks and 252 coloring books to bring added support to the hospital's youngest patients.

Ms. Karen Leonard OAM emphasized the organization's commitment to the community: "This project is vital for enhancing healthcare services for pediatric and obstetric patients at Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children. With this support, Lifestart Foundation hopes that the medical equipment will be utilized to its fullest potential, reducing overcrowding and helping patients in the Central and Central Highlands regions avoid traveling long distances for treatment. Our mission is to make a meaningful impact on the lives of these children, improving their health and quality of life while supporting a brighter future for the younger generations of Vietnam."

Speaking at the donation ceremony, Associate Professor, Doctor Tran Thi Hoang, Deputy Director of Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children, on behalf of the hospital's management board expressed her sincere gratitude to Lifestart Foundation for their generous donation of essential medical equipment. She highlighted the importance of this support in improving the hospital's capacity to care for children and assured the public that the hospital will utilize the equipment effectively to enhance patient care and improve overall healthcare services.
