All retailers must accept cash

Jim Chalmers has announced a SHORT consultation period for the "Next steps in ensuring the future of cash" process.

There must be NO 'carve outs' or industries exempted from this cash mandate in order for it to be effective.

"All physical retailers must be required to accept cash," said Jason Bryce, founder of the Cash Welcome campaign.

"There may be time and dollar limits on the mandate but these must be extremely limited."

"Government should also accept cash for licenses, passports, fees, rates and charges," said Jason Bryce.

"Corporations selling insurance, energy, communications are to be required to accept cash, so government can accept cash too."
