Townsville Fire maintain control over Geelong United in 85-61 victory

Game Summary

 

Townsville Fire looked like a well oiled machine when they stepped out against Geelong on Sunday afternoon claiming a 85-61 victory. The Fire controlled the rhythm of the game from the start, however Geelong were still in it at halftime trailing by 10 points. It was in the second half, where Townsville began to pull away and Geelong had no answers on both ends of the court. Haley Jones of Geelong put her team on her back finishing with 22 points however it wasn't enough to compete with Townsville multiple scorers in double figures.

 

Captain Courtney Woods lead from the front with 23 points and 6 assists, whilst Abbey Ellis put in an impressive performance with 17 points and 4 steals. Alicia Froling had 15 points and 9 rebounds, whilst Lauren Cox put in a handy 12 points and 6 rebounds.
