Micro Focus boosts Australian team

Announcement posted by Micro Focus 02 Feb 2009

Leading enterprise application management and modernisation solution provider, Micro Focus, has expanded its Australian team with the appointment of Geoff Whiteley as Account Director.

In his new role, Whiteley is responsible for generating new business across the Micro Focus portfolio, with particular emphasis on the company’s Data Express product suite. Micro Focus Data Express creates appropriate subsets of large volumes of production data for testing purposes while meeting stringent data privacy requirements.

Whiteley has worked in the IT industry for more than 28 years, most recently as a business development manager at Information Builders where he focused on selling directly to the public sector. Prior to this, he held business development roles for Bearing Point (KPMG Consulting Australia) and Digital Equipment Corporation, first as a channels business manager, then as a SAP alliance manager. Before this, Whiteley worked at Unisys where he managed hardware infrastructure projects and developed new business opportunities.

Keith Mante, country manager, Micro Focus Australia, says Whiteley’s experience in helping businesses extract value from existing systems is an ideal fit with the company’s technology.

“Geoff brings with him a wealth of knowledge and a proven ability to generate new business,” Mante says. “His focus on the Data Express tools will ensure we can take advantage of the growing opportunities in that area as Australian companies come under increasing pressure to comply with privacy and legislative requirements.”
