The Harvest Her Power: Farm Wives Empowerment & Skills Conference made a powerful debut on April 7-8 at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, delivering not just another conference—but an experience that has redefined what it means to support and grow the backbone of Australian agriculture.
This isn't just about networking or note-taking. Harvest Her Power is a conference like no other—blending personal development with hands-on, practical skills that can be implemented straight into daily farm life. From the cattle yards to the kitchen table, this event gave women the tools to build confidence, clarity, and capability across every part of their ag journey.
The real strategy? Empower those behind the family farming businesses. Because when the women of the land are equipped and uplifted, the entire ag industry becomes more resilient. More confident. More future-ready.
With sessions led by agricultural powerhouse Shanna Whan (Sober in the Country), industry advocate Gillian Fennell, and even former Farmer Wants a Wife contestants sharing raw stories of rural life, the event was as heartfelt as it was practical.
Attendee Elaine shared:
"This was a fantastic couple of days. I would highly recommend attending—regardless of how involved you are or where you live, you'll be very surprised with what you take away from it."
Another guest reflected on the honesty and depth of the event:
"A great event covering a range of relevant topics with speakers coming from the heart—not glossing over the hard topics or making everything rosy."
The standout moment of the two-day gathering was the charity auction, which raised enough funds to register Harvest Her Power as an official not-for-profit organization. This pivotal milestone guarantees the event will not only continue—it will grow.
Founder Katja Williams said:
"The women who show up for this conference are the backbone of agriculture. This is more than a once-a-year event—this is the beginning of something bigger. We're here to educate, connect, and empower the women holding our industry together, often unseen but absolutely essential."
Thanks to overwhelming support, Harvest Her Power will now become an annual event, with the next conference locked in for February 2026. Plans are already underway to make it even bigger, bolder, and more transformative for rural women across the country.
