Zhone Technologies, Inc. has acquired NetComm Wireless Pty. Ltd

Sydney, Australia & Texas, USA - 1 May 2025 - Zhone Technologies, Inc. today announced that it has acquired NetComm Wireless Pty Ltd, Australia's pioneering developer of 5G fixed-wireless, fibre-extension and home broadband solutions. The transaction follows Zhone Technologies' acquisition of substantially all assets of DZS Inc., NetComm's former parent, out of Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings in the United States.

NetComm will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhone Technologies, preserving its brand, Sydney and Melbourne offices, R&D and warehouse facilities. The combined entity will offer service-provider customers a fully integrated edge-to-cloud broadband portfolio spanning fixed-wireless CPE, Fiber Extension equipment, Wi-Fi 7 gateways and user experience and installation software.

The sale of NetComm secured the best possible outcome for employees, customers and suppliers. NetComm's deep R&D heritage is matched with the investment and scale required to accelerate delivery of next-generation broadband technologies.

Transaction Details

The purchase was effectuated on 19-May-2025 via a deed of company arrangement (DOCA) approved by NetComm creditors and the Federal Court of Australia.
