Having sold-out performances at City Recital Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and most recently the State Theatre in 2024, three-time ARIA Award-winners Monsieur Camembert return with Cohen Noir: The Beauty, Mystery and Romance of Leonard Cohen - a bold, exhilarating and genre-defying celebration of the music, poetry and spirit of Leonard Cohen.
 

This newly reimagined production - a rebranding of the ensemble's acclaimed The Leonard Cohen Show - will launch the first dates of its national tour in Victoria, with performances at Bendigo's Ulumbarra Theatre (August 1), the National Theatre in St Kilda (August 2), and West Gippsland Arts Centre (August 3).
 

In this new chapter, the celebrated 10-piece ensemble is joined by a powerhouse line-up of guest vocalists: Rebecca Barnard, Rob Snarski, Nina Ferro and Canada-born Brian Campeau. Their rich and distinctive voices bring fresh emotional and sonic layers to this unforgettable homage.
 

Far from a traditional tribute, Cohen Noir reimagines Cohen's iconic songs through a thrilling kaleidoscope of styles rarely (if ever) associated with his work - from swing, jazz and tango, to Latin, klezmer and more. Drawing on material that spans 35 years, Monsieur Camembert's original arrangements are interwoven with excerpts of Cohen's poetry and rare audio of the man himself - offering a richly immersive experience for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
 

With a reputation for genre-bending brilliance and emotionally charged performances, Monsieur Camembert brings energy, soul and invention to the Cohen songbook like no one else.
