Toshiba Leads Portable PC Sales in 2008

 

More consumers choose Toshiba

 

SYDNEY, 25 February, 2009 – Toshiba (Australia) Pty. Limited, Information Systems Division (ISD).

 

Consumers across Australia have voted Toshiba (Australia) Pty. Limited, Information Systems Division (ISD) as the number one portable PC company in 2008, according to leading consumer analyst house, GfK.

 

Judged against more than 10 leading portable PC brands, GfK awarded Toshiba the title of number one portable PC brand in the Australian market, based on overall unit sales from January 1, to December 21, 2008, as determined by GfK’s Retail Audit data.

 

“Through continual investments in R&D, we have been able to develop a wide range of notebook technologies suitable for all users and budgets,” said Mark Whittard, General Manager, Toshiba ISD.

 

 “We firmly acknowledge the contribution of our customers to the success of Toshiba in Australia and will continue advancing consumer technologies that meet the requirements of today’s flexible lifestyles,” he said.

 

Toshiba would also like to thank its retail partners for their ongoing commitment to the brand.
