Qjump expands its team with new Head of Technology

Sydney 18 March 2009 – Qjump, the online ticketing division of the Sound Alliance Group, today confirmed the appointment of Sasha Gerrand in the newly created role of Head of Technology. Sasha will be responsible for the delivery of new and strategic technology developments in the white labelling and music, tickets and merchandise bundling areas, as well as day-to-day management of the company’s hosting environment.

According to Qjump Managing Director, Stephanie Sulway, this appointment is key to the company’s continued growth.

“Sasha is a great addition to our team on many levels,” Sulway outlined. “He has extensive technology knowledge across a wide range of environments and importantly understands both technology and business requirements for a consumer-focused organisation. This is an important part of our commitment to the youth market and event organisers as we move forward.

“His specific responsibilities will include working with strategic partners to ensure mission-critical hosting levels are met and that our merchant service providers meet our client requirements. We have early plans to improve our event technology solutions and will be implementing new load/capacity and stress testing programs to ensure that we reach and exceed our new benchmarks,” Sulway concluded.

Sasha joins Qjump from his recent roles in Infrastructure Support and Development at MobileActive, one of Australia’s larger mobile entertainment companies; and a variety of web and database development roles with Austbrokers Limited, Parsons Brinckerhoff and Armstrong Miller + McLaren.

Qjump sells tickets for many leading Australian events and venues via its website Qjump.com.au and its affiliate network websites inthemix.com.au, FasterLouder.com.au and SameSame.com.au.  In addition, Qjump provides ‘white-label’ shop fronts and custom ticketing solutions for event promoters like Splendour in the Grass, Playground Weekender and venues including Home Nightclub and The Met in Brisbane.

The company is currently undertaking development projects for its membership activities, a carbon-offset initiative as well as a music, tickets and merchandise bundling concept.
