MAMMA MIA!  Final performance added due to overwhelming demand.

The world's favourite feel-good musical, MAMMA MIA!, will debut in Newcastle next month to celebrate its dazzling 25th anniversary. Since first opening in London's West End, this joyous global phenomenon has thrilled more than 70 million people worldwide—and now it's Newcastle's turn.

Such is the demand that producers today announced an additional and final performance on Sunday 26 October at 1pm at Civic Theatre Newcastle.

Opening 11 October 2025, the beloved musical will play a strictly limited two-week season, with audiences rushing to snap up tickets.

Set on a sun-kissed Greek island and bursting with ABBA's greatest hits, MAMMA MIA! tells the heartwarming and hilarious story of a mother, a daughter, and three possible dads. With 22 iconic songs - including Dancing Queen, Take a Chance on Me, and The Winner Takes It All - this high-energy production will have audiences singing, dancing, and smiling all the way home.

Erin Cornell stars as Donna, bringing powerhouse vocals and fierce energy to the iconic role. Cornell's career has spanned major productions such as Cats (Australasian Tour), Wicked (Japan), Les Misérables, and Shane Warne the Musical, alongside international concert performances from Europe to Asia.

Joining Erin and a cast of 31 performers is Matt Edwards, a WAAPA graduate with an extensive list of credits including Cats, My Fair Lady, and the 2017-18 professional Australian tour of MAMMA MIA, making his return to this much-loved show all the more special.
