Man Meets Flame: Redefining Masculinity by the Fire

Last night, Wild Secrets and Arcwave hosted Man Meets Flame, an exclusive evening that brought together fire, flavour, and conversation to celebrate the launch of the Arcwave Zing.

At a time when masculinity is too often framed in the media through the lens of toxicity, the evening was dedicated to reclaiming and reframing what it means to be male in today's society. The event fostered an atmosphere of openness, warmth, and genuine connection, breaking down outdated generalisations and showcasing positive, modern expressions of masculinity.

The heart of the event was a live fire cooking demonstration by Ross Magnaye of Serai Kitchen, whose artistry over flame created far more than a feast. Guests gathered around fire pits as Ross shared the secrets to mastering meat over an open flame, while his storytelling sparked conversations that naturally touched on leadership, vulnerability, identity, and the joy of creating something meaningful with your own hands.

The celebration continued into the night with mulled wine, cider, and music, but it was the conversations, raw, intimate, and inclusive that lingered most. Guests left with a renewed sense that masculinity can be intelligent without bravado, intimate without machismo, and celebrated without cliché.

Man Meets Flame was more than a launch, it was a statement. A reminder that masculinity in modern society deserves to be talked about with nuance, positivity, and pride.
