First Pivot and Unreel Films Debut "See It. Be It." Entrepreneurial Documentary Series at Private Screening
Announcement posted by First Pitch 09 Oct 2025
The event, hosted at the BlueRock offices in Melbourne, featured documentaries profiling Equoia, Kaiko Fidgets, and Sustainable Salons.
The "See It. Be It." series is a collaboration between First Pivot and Unreel Films, designed to showcase diverse Australian entrepreneurs solving real problems in their communities. The initiative aims to provide students across Australia with relatable examples of entrepreneurial success, moving beyond Silicon Valley case studies to feature homegrown innovators.
BlueRock, a foundation supporter of the initiative, provided the venue for the screening. The films are part of First Pivot's commitment to helping young Australians envision themselves as future change makers by seeing entrepreneurs who look like them and come from similar backgrounds.
"We created 'See It. Be It.' because students need to see diverse examples of entrepreneurial success," said Jim Schuman, CEO of First Pivot. "When young people can't see themselves reflected in the stories of business leaders, entrepreneurship feels like something 'other people do.' These films change that narrative by bringing the human side of Australian entrepreneurship into the classroom."
The documentary series takes a cinematic, character-driven approach to storytelling. Zac Stevenson, CEO of Unreel Films, explained the production philosophy: "The key to a great documentary film is having a great story. We've found that entrepreneurs have no shortage of challenges that they have to overcome. Our challenge is teasing out the story that will resonate with students and inspire them to have a go."
The next round of films is currently in production for the 2026 series. First Pivot is accepting nominations for Australian entrepreneurs who have compelling stories that could inspire the next generation of business leaders.
