Media release: Eric Bibb announces new album, Australian tour plans and drops new single

Announcement posted by Jameson & Co 10 Oct 2025

One Mississippi out January | Touring Australia April-May 2026 with band | This One Don't out now

Three-time Grammy-nominated blues legend Eric Bibb will return to Australia in April 2026 as part of his world tour celebrating the release of his new album One Mississippi (out January, 2026). These will be Eric's first full-band performances in Australia since early 2023, and his most extensive national tour to date, covering metro and regional venues across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, ACT and Tasmania.

The announcement coincides with the release of the album's first single, "This One Don't", co-written by Bibb and longtime collaborator Glen Scott. The song arrives with an accompanying music video, offering a first glimpse of the sound and spirit of One Mississippi - a record that captures Bibb at his most soulful, socially conscious and musically adventurous.

Produced by Grammy-nominated Glen Scott and recorded in Sweden, One Mississippi features a stellar cast of international musicians including UK guitar virtuoso Robbie McIntosh (Paul McCartney, John Mayer), with backing vocals by Shaneeka Simon and Sara Bergkvist Scott and contributions from Janis Ian and Fred Koller, who wrote the poignant title track. Bibb describes the album as "a call for peace, justice and unity in a divided world," weaving stories from America's not-so-distant past with reflections on the challenges and hopes of today.

Following a remarkable run of creative output, One Mississippi continues Bibb's extraordinary journey as one of the most vital and uplifting voices in contemporary blues. His 2023 album Ridin' earned a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album and was hailed as his "late-life classic." With One Mississippi, he brings that same depth of conviction and artistry to a new collection of songs that are instantly memorable.

Eric Bibb's connection with Australian audiences runs deep. His concerts - intimate, passionate and profoundly human - have long been cherished by fans across the country. This upcoming tour promises to be something truly special: a chance to hear the new album in all its glory, with the full band arrangements exactly as they were recorded.

As Bibb himself says, "The title song of my new album, One Mississippi, was written by my high school friend, Janis Ian, with Fred Koller. This new collection of stories, from a not-too-distant American past and a tense global present, is a call for peace, justice, and unity in a divided world."

Of the new single, Bibb says, "'This One Don't' is the first single we'll drop from my upcoming album 'One Mississippi'. The song was inspired by a wonderful gig at a Blues Fever festival in Vienna, where I played in front of a groovy crowd who loves dancing to the Blues. Happily, we were able to include these folks in the video. Thanks to my ace producer, Glen Scott and the superb musicians involved, this track is one of the funkiest I've ever recorded. As Alice Walker once said, "Hard times require furious dancing.""

One Mississippi will be released worldwide in January 2026.

The single "This One Don't" is available now on all streaming platforms, with its music video available now on YouTube, having premiered on influential independent music site, Rock & Blues Muse.

Tour dates and ticketing details for Eric Bibb's April-May 2026 Australian tour will be announced later this month.
