New South Wales’ Tech Leaders Head to CeBIT Australia 2009

SYDNEY, Australia – 28 April 2009: New South Wales Premier Nathan Rees will support an outstanding roster of NSW technology innovators when he officially opens CeBIT Australia 2009, the region’s largest business technology trade event.

CeBIT Australia 2009 event runs from May 12 – 14 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, and has enjoyed long-time support from the NSW Government through the Department of State and Regional Development since it was first held in 2002.

Mr Rees, an enthusiastic supporter of the state’s ICT sector, will cut the ribbon at the special CeBIT Australia 2009 opening ceremony with Federal Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy.

The DSRD will host a special State Pavilion showcasing 18 innovative NSW start-up technology companies, including firms operating in such areas as digital media, financial services, government services and security.
