This summer's beach days in Port Phillip Bay will be tastier than ever with Luke's Bánh Mì. You can expect the famous freshly baked bread, home-made edge-to-edge spread of pâté and Vietnamese mayo, perfectly pickled vegetables, and the crispiest pork belly and other rich Vietnamese flavoured proteins, and vegan fillings that everyone keeps raving about, as you relax by the water in the sunshine. A perfect meal to bring to the beach as you sit back and work on your tan, or pick up a bánh mì when your belly rumbles after an afternoon of swimming in the bay.

The launch of their newest Bay Street bakery in Melbourne's bayside suburb of Port Melbourne comes after a string of new Luke's Bánh Mì bakery openings since March 2025. The team navigated building setbacks that postponed the original opening date for Bay Street earlier this year. This is the fifth Luke's Bánh Mì bakery opening, following the successful launch of Clarendon Street in South Melbourne, Little Bourke Street in the CBD- dishing up an impressive 1,200 bánh mì on opening day alone - and Queen Street also in the CBD.

About Luke's Bánh Mì
Luke Vu opened his first bakery in 2019, Luke's Bakery in Reservoir. It was sold in May of 2022 and has no connection to the Luke's Bańh Mì franchise or brand.
The Puckle Street bakery opened in June 2021 under a rebranded name, Luke's Vietnamese.
In April 2025, the business rebranded to Luke's Bánh Mì, reflecting its focus on authenticity, happiness, and Vietnamese bakery culture.
