Australia–UAE Health Innovation Partnership Welcomes UAE Delegation to Brisbane

Announcement posted by ARMHub 21 Jan 2026

Strengthening global collaboration in health, biomedical innovation, and advanced manufacturing

Brisbane, Queensland, January 2026 — The ARM Hub will welcome a senior delegation from Dubai Health to Brisbane next week as part of the Australia-UAE Innovation Alliance Program.

The visit brings together Australian and UAE clinicians, researchers, industry leaders, and government stakeholders to explore shared priorities in healthcare delivery, translational research, and the responsible adoption of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).

Led by QUT, Dubai Health and ARM Hub, the program marks a significant step forward in bilateral collaboration across health, biomedical innovation, and advanced manufacturing.

ARM Hub Chief Commercial Officer and AusBiotech QLD Committee member Sam Jesuadian said the delegation's visit reflects growing global interest in Australia as a trusted partner for health innovation.

"Australia has a unique ability to take complex health and biomedical innovations and turn them into deployable, scalable solutions," said Mr Jesuadian. "Through ARM Hub, we work at the intersection of clinicians, researchers, manufacturers, and technology developers to ensure innovation does not stop at the laboratory bench but reaches patients and health systems in a safe, efficient, and sustainable way."

Brisbane Program Highlights

The Brisbane program includes visits to Queensland's leading health and innovation precincts, including the Translational Research Institute, the Gold Coast Knowledge and Health Precinct, Wesley Medical Research, and the ARM Hub.

The visits are designed to showcase Queensland's strengths in translating research into real-world clinical and industrial outcomes, supported by robust regulatory frameworks, advanced manufacturing capability, and close collaboration between healthcare providers, researchers, and industry.

"AI is rapidly transforming health and biomedical sectors, from diagnostics and personalised medicine to manufacturing and supply chain resilience," said Mr Jesuadian. "For Australian businesses, the opportunity lies not only in developing these technologies, but in validating, manufacturing, and scaling them responsibly. Partnerships with global health systems like Dubai Health accelerate this journey and create new pathways for local companies to access international markets."

Translational Research Institute Panel Session

As part of the program, the delegation will participate in a panel discussion on Innovation in Healthcare Sustainability at the Translational Research Institute on Thursday, 29 January.

The panel brings together clinicians and academic leaders from Queensland alongside senior representatives from Dubai Health to examine real-world healthcare challenges through a cross-system, international lens. Discussions will centre on how health systems can deliver better patient outcomes while strengthening operational resilience and sustainability.

The session will explore practical strategies to improve patient care pathways, optimise clinical decision-making, and enhance system performance while addressing the growing need to reduce the environmental footprint of healthcare delivery. By sharing experiences from Australia and the UAE, the panel will identify scalable approaches that balance quality of care, workforce pressures, and sustainability objectives.

The Australia-UAE Innovation Alliance Program is designed to foster long-term collaboration through co-designed pilots, joint research and industry projects, and workforce capability development. Outcomes from the Brisbane visit will feed directly into further engagement in the UAE, including innovation workshops and participation in global health forums.
